It is a nonreligious, embodiment-based experience, and no singing background is needed. Attendees sustain simple sounds such as hums or open vowels with nothing to learn, memorize, or perform. Her debut album, Diamonds & Demons, opened the way to sharing her songs internationally in both intimate and larger settings, with an emphasis on presence and authenticity. Presented within the Cathedrals Concerts series by Abbey Arts, a Seattle nonprofit nurturing music, arts, and community since 2005 and celebrating 20 years, this event offers an open floor format with a calm, listening-centered atmosphere. The Grammy winning independent artist from Chicago is known for Acid Rap, Coloring Book, and Star Line, blending hip hop with gospel and soul while reflecting on faith, family, resilience, and Black identity. He is also the founder of SocialWorks, a Chicago nonprofit focused on youth empowerment, arts education, and civic engagement. The floor is general admission and the balcony offers reserved seating. There is a limit of six tickets per person and per credit card, and orders that exceed the limit may be canceled at the venue’s discretion. All sales are final with no refunds or exchanges. The album opens with Miyazaki, a bold creative statement named for filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. It moves through terrain that is as personal as it is political. Good Girl confronts the commodification of women’s bodies and drew attention after BBC Woman’s Hour, while Good Boy frames feminism as a call for solidarity with men, introduced by a reading from Emma Thompson. The record is animated by many forms of love, all threaded with a constant devotion to art, drawing on influences that include the opening line of Donna Tartt’s The Secret History, the seascapes of J. This karaoke session is hosted by Josh in collaboration with Konomi of Seductive Sounds Entertainment and the Quality Karaoke team. Josh has previously led shows at the Getaway, O'Houlies, and the Eagles Club, and now brings that experience to South Lake Union. With Konomi’s referral, Quality Karaoke supports the production, and longer hours are anticipated.

This concert features Brazilian pianist and composer Jovino Santos Neto, who spent many years with Hermeto Pascoal’s renowned group before moving to Seattle, where he became an influential performer and educator at Cornish College of the Arts. He appears with Peter Barshay on bass and David Flores on drums, forming a piano trio that shares expressive, groove rich Brazilian music.

The Jose "Juicy" Gonzales Quartet delivers an uplifting, groove-forward performance at The Royal Room, highlighting dynamic energy and expressive musicianship. The ensemble features Jose J. Gonzales on piano and voice, Brian Bermudez on tenor saxophone, Michael Glynn on bass, and Matt Jorgensen on drums. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Experience a Candlelight concert celebrating the music of video games at the Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle.
