This gathering brings together local women for networking, fun, and friendship at Calico Cupboard Mt. Vernon. Attendees are encouraged to introduce themselves, talk about what they are working on, and share the types of support they are looking for.

Spend Tuesday nights pitching horseshoes in a relaxed, friendly setting. Participation is free, and horseshoes are available to use.

The Celtic Arts Foundation presents the 16th annual autumn workshop devoted to smallpipes, led by guest instructors Angus MacKenzie and Timothy Cummings. Small class sizes are a core feature, creating ample time for focused instruction and meaningful collaboration among participants and teachers. The weekend pairs hands on learning with community gatherings, including a ceilidh, a concert featuring both instructors that is open to the public, and a public open session. Tuition for the full workshop is $275 and covers instruction throughout the event. Participants may bring their own lunch or pre purchase a boxed meal that includes a deli sandwich, chips, a cookie, and water, and there are restaurants within walking distance of the Littlefield Celtic Center. Meals may contain common allergens, and dietary accommodations can be arranged with advance notice. A discounted lodging rate is available at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Burlington when mentioning the Celtic Arts Foundation. Timothy Cummings is a Vermont based composer and multi instrumentalist whose piping spans traditions from the British Isles to Appalachia, Cape Breton, and Brittany, and he teaches at Middlebury College and performs with the trio Triton. Angus MacKenzie, raised in the Gaelic culture of Mabou, Cape Breton, is active in projects such as Seudan and has recorded with his brother Kenneth and other noted musicians. Merit based support is available through the Fred Morrison Scholarship, which considers musicianship, participation, mentoring or teaching, involvement in Celtic Arts Foundation activities, personal piping background, and how the workshop would advance the player’s development.
