Live music in Olympia, WA

Eagles Olympia hosts the Kate Olson Quartet, led by Seattle based improvising saxophonist and educator Kate Olson. Known for her own projects KO SOLO and KO Quartet and collaborations with the Royal Room Collective Music Ensemble and Wayne Horvitz ensembles, she has performed internationally and shared stages with artists including Terry Riley, Pauline Oliveros, Bobby Previte, Skerik, Patricia Barber, Elvis Costello, Brandi Carlile, Sir Mix a Lot, the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra and the Seattle Symphony Pops. The lineup features Olson on saxophone with Conner Eisenmenger on trombone and trumpet, Tim Carey on electric bass, and Evan Woodle on drums. A sliding scale donation of 15 to 35 dollars is suggested, payable by card or cash, and no one is turned away for lack of funds. Olympia Jazz Central is a volunteer run 501c3 that supports South Sound jazz through concerts, workshops, artist collaboration and a youth scholarship program.

Each week, the Olympia Eagles Ballroom hosts a welcoming salsa dance social featuring the rhythms of salsa, bachata, merengue, cha cha, and cumbia. The evening begins with beginner-friendly Bachata and Salsa ABC series classes, followed by a brief introductory salsa lesson that is included with admission, then transitions into a lively social dance party. It is open to beginners and experienced dancers alike, and no partner is required. General admission is $10 and includes the intro lesson. Class series drop-ins are $25. A 4-week class series is $80. An all-access monthly pass is $125 and includes every social dance, live music night, any workshops, and the class series offered by OlyDance for that month.

Lula Fest 2026 brings live music, a car show, and vendor booths to Capitol Theater. Headlined by The Pazific from Seattle, the bill also includes Mona Y Latin Drums from Chile, AKA from Olympia, DJ Kalambre from Tumwater, and DJ Muneca from Olympia, and more. VIP tickets are available for 25 dollars. The event is presented with support from City of Olympia, First Security Bank, The Long Game Advisory Group, South Sound YMCA, The JOLT, Mullinax Ford of Olympia, Bytes Recycling, Olympia Downtown Alliance, Olympia Salsa, and Charro Mexican Restaurant.

Presented by SPICY Lounge in collaboration with Chayanne Montiel, this waterfront Latin dance gathering brings salsa, cumbia, bachata, and merengue to an open-air setting by the water. A group lesson is led by SPICY’s dance instructors alongside Chayanne Montiel, with DJ Santos curating the music. Expect lively rhythms, shared laughs, and a welcoming community vibe for friends and families.
