A girls hockey skills camp at Sauk Prairie Ice Arena brings together an all-female coaching team to deliver focused development for youth players. It is open to girls ages 7 to 17 who are proficient in skating skills, with sessions organized into two groups, ages 7 to 11 and 12 to 17, so instruction fits each stage of growth. Across multiple sessions, participants train for 4.5 hours on the ice and 3 hours off the ice. Coaching emphasizes skating technique, edge control, stickhandling, shooting and overall individual improvement. The experience includes photo and autograph opportunities with professional players, a Q&A, and a Future Stars jersey for each participant. Instruction is led by PWHL athletes Marlène Boissonnault of the Minnesota Frost, a Walter Cup champion, Emily Brown of the Seattle Torrent and Anneke Linser of the Toronto Sceptres, joined by NCAA Division III players Hadley Malcolmson and Zoe Sternberg. Professional photographer Shawn Royster will capture the action, with links to images provided after the camp. The cost is $385, or reserve a spot with a $150 deposit and pay the remaining $235 30 days before the camp.

Step inside the Shack, then walk through prairie and woodland that have been brought back to health along the Wisconsin River as guides share the story of the land and its renewal. Ticket purchases are restricted to groups of ten or fewer, and advance registration is appreciated. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 62 and older and for young adults ages 11 to 17, and $1.50 for children 10 and under.

Families can explore practical ways to keep children safe during a hands-on day in the Baraboo Children’s Museum parking lot. Activities include practicing how to exit a simulated smoke-filled room and watching expert demonstrations on proper car seat installation. Attendees can gather guidance for everyday decision-making to help protect children. Free safety gear will be available while supplies last, with life jackets and first aid kits provided through support from a Healthy Community Partnership Grant from the SSM Health St. Clare Foundation. Children must be present to be fitted for life jackets and helmets. The event is planned to proceed in light drizzle, but will be canceled in the case of heavy rain, lightning, or other severe weather. Quantities are limited, so early arrival is encouraged.

Miss Tamara leads a playful session of music and movement with singing, rhyming, counting, and other engaging activities. The program helps children practice social and cooperative skills, strengthens language and communication, nurtures musical awareness and a sense of rhythm, supports early literacy and phonics skills, deepens understanding of counting and patterns, and builds confidence with group play. It offers an outlet for energy and laughter through play-based learning. Participation is included with admission.

This program features a garden talk focused on practical ways to use freshly harvested produce from the garden. A kids craft is also included, giving children the chance to create their own bird feeder.

Miss Pat leads a weekly guided craft, featuring hands-on projects that may include painting, cutting, or gluing. Each session focuses on simple steps and creative expression so participants can leave with something they are proud of. This activity is included with admission and is subject to Miss Pat’s availability.

After School Art Club returns for fall with teaching artist Jyneal Radke. Designed for students in grades 3 to 5, this six-week series meets after school each week for hands-on exploration of new art concepts. Participants experiment with a different idea every session, then create a project inspired by what they discover. At the end of each class, students can show their work to classmates. All supplies are provided, and no prior experience is required. The program fee is $75.
