The third annual Midwest MINI Meet brings a multi-club gathering to Baraboo for a weekend based at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, with scenic drives designed for MINI enthusiasts. Participants can take part for the whole weekend or for a single day. There are no registration fees, and attendees handle their own lodging and meals. Hosted by the Chicago Mini Motoring Club, the rally centers on exploring the curvy, lettered roads of Wisconsin’s driftless region, known for sweeping ridgelines, quiet valleys, and rolling hills. The signature Coffee and Curves Run showcases some of the best motoring in the area. Plans include a social by the hotel’s patio fire pits, a group drive to Viroqua with options for coffee, the farmers market, and brunch, a return route with a fuel and restroom stop in Elroy, a group dinner planned at Tumbled Rock Brewery and Kitchen pending confirmation, another evening social, a staged drone photo, and a brunch run to Spring Green General Store. For planning purposes, registration is requested even for those not staying at the rally hotel. All participants will be asked to sign a club waiver before taking part, and route details along with the waiver will be provided at driver meetings before each day’s run. FRS or GMRS radios are encouraged to help keep the group together on the road. Routes are subject to final scouting to avoid construction and ensure smooth travel.

Steviefest Memorial Tournament brings the community together to honor the memory of Steven Hellenbrand with a weekend full of activities and friendly competition. Highlights include a softball tournament, a bags tournament, free kids face painting and balloon animals, a movie in the shelter, a silent auction, raffles, and food concessions. The event is made possible by volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community supporters. Proceeds support Waunakee Bar Buddies Inc., a 501(c)(3), and the Steven Hellenbrand Children's Memorial.

After the warmup, it shifts into a yogalates blend on the barn lawn by the ranch lounge, combining yoga postures and Pilates-based work to support strength, flexibility, and balance. Lodging guests at CASACAMPO who are staying in the farmhouse or bunkhouse have the morning movement segment included, and will then be guided to their next activity. Ketchums Run/Walk takes place at Sauk County Fairgrounds and features a larger edition focused on empowering Wisconsin veterans. The event supports Ketchum’s Got Your Six, Inc., which continues its mission to uplift and empower veterans. Last year’s generosity came close to covering the cost of providing a service dog and training for a veteran, and continued support helps move that goal forward to change lives.

Participants will work with pre-coated fabric, paper, and coffee filters to create one-sided and two-sided images using sources of inspiration like leaves, flowers, and stencils. Attendees are welcome to bring personal, flat or translucent items to incorporate into their prints, such as a lace doily, pressed botanicals, and their own negatives or digital negatives if they have them. Angela Johnson brings a rich teaching background, beginning in fifth grade language arts, and centers her practice on helping students develop the tools to grow from learner to leader in both art and life. When not making work, teaching, or coaching creatively, she enjoys meditation, kayaking, and scuba diving. She holds a Master’s in Art Education and an MFA from UW Madison. The workshop fee is $100.

Now in its 14th year, this community meal-packing effort gathers volunteers at Grand Avenue Elementary to assemble more than 280,000 meals for Feed My Starving Children and to help stock the Sauk Prairie Food Pantry. The event is organized into two-hour volunteer shifts that start with setup, continue through seven packing sessions, and finish with cleanup.

Participants younger than 21 are welcome but must remain in the ballroom and hotel areas and may not enter the casino. Throughout the weekend, singer and songwriter Bree Morgan will perform at various times and locations, with set times to be announced closer to the event. Registration requires an ACL profile, and if a player enters a division that does not match their ACL profile or Scoreholio rating, directors may move that entry to the appropriate division. Competition begins with women’s, seniors, and juniors singles in a double-elimination format, preceded by two five-round warm-up games that are for practice only. The Crew Cup features four-player teams in a double-elimination bracket with a nine-round limit, one professional player per team is allowed, and there are Upper and Lower divisions. The Lower division requires every team member’s CPI to be under 7.25, while the Upper division allows anyone to play up but not down. A blind draw follows in Tiers 1, 3, 4, and 5, with CPI ranges set as Tier 1 at 7.25 to 12, Tier 3 at 6.25 to 7.25, Tier 4 at 5.00 to 6.25, and Tier 5 below 5.00. Doubles play uses six games of rounders and then feeds into five tiers for double-elimination, single-game matches. Singles wrap up the weekend across five tiers, all double-elimination and single game, with Tier 1 open to any CPI, Tier 2 capped at 8 or less, Tier 3 at 7 or less, Tier 4 at 6 or less, and Tier 5 at 5 or less. Entry fees are 30 dollars each for women’s, seniors, and juniors. Crew Cup entries are 160 dollars for Upper and 100 dollars for Lower, with one player covering the full team fee. Blind draw entries are 50 dollars for Tier 1, 40 for Tier 3, 30 for Tier 4, and 20 for Tier 5. Doubles is 100 dollars per team. Singles entries are 60 dollars for Tier 1, 50 for Tier 2, 40 for Tier 3, 30 for Tier 4, and 20 for Tier 5. Payouts are set at 80 percent for doubles. Singles pays 100 percent in Tier 1, 80 percent in Tier 2, 70 percent in Tier 3, 60 percent in Tier 4, and Tier 5 awards a plaque with a small cash prize for first place. 38 Special brings a half-century of high-energy Southern rock to Crystal Grand Music Theatre. Formed in 1974, the Florida natives have toured relentlessly, building a live reputation powered by grit and big melodic hooks. With 20 million albums sold and more than 15 releases, their catalog features radio favorites like Hold On Loosely, Caught Up In You, If I’d Been The One, Back Where You Belong, and Second Chance. Now entering a sixth decade together, the band continues its journey with Milestone, the first studio album in more than 20 years, revving up snarling guitars and anthemic choruses while connecting past and present without leaving their rock and roll roots behind.

Learn the foundations of relief printmaking in a beginner friendly workshop taught by printmaker Derek Hibbs. The session introduces the process, a bit of its background, and several approaches to producing an edition. Each participant will take an image from concept to completion, choosing to carve a block in linoleum or birch plywood and working at an 8 by 6 inch image size. Expect to pull 6 to 8 finished prints while trying both hand printing and a small press. Instruction covers selecting materials, planning composition, drawing and transfer methods, carving and inking, tool care, studio practices, and do it yourself techniques. Personal ideas are welcome, and bringing sketches is encouraged but not required. The fee is $125 and the class is open to ages 16 and up. Materials provided include a wood block, inks, printing supplies, paper, and transfer paper. Please bring a basic carving tool set such as the Speedball Lino Set No. 1 with a handle and five cutters, along with drawing pencils, an eraser, permanent markers or a ballpoint pen, a sketchbook or plain paper, and optional items like a ruler, nitrile or latex gloves, and an apron or smock. If you prefer, bring a printed 8 by 6 inch image to transfer, or plan to draw during class. Derek Hibbs holds an MFA in printmaking from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a BFA in printmaking from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne. He works across lithography, intaglio, and relief, serves as a preparator at the Chazen Museum of Art, and teaches 2D design at Madison College. Based in Madison, he maintains a home print studio, collaborates with local artists, and creates work that ranges from climate and social themes to lighthearted, nature inspired pieces informed by art history.

Two rock powerhouses come together for a concert that spans Southern Rock and British glam. Molly Hatchet emerged from Jacksonville, Florida during the rise of Southern Rock, blending blues, country, gospel, and rock into a sound that sent their 1978 Epic Records debut to multi-platinum status. They followed with Flirtin’ with Disaster in 1979 and built a reputation on the road with Aerosmith, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones, and more, continuing a legacy of hard-working, high-energy performances. The Sweet rose to international fame in the 1970s as one of the era’s leading glam rock acts, delivering chart-topping hits like Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Love Is Like Oxygen, Little Willy, Blockbuster, Action, Teenage Rampage, and AC/DC. After the original group ended in 1981, founder Steve Priest returned in 2007 to assemble a lineup with Richie Onori and Stevie Stewart that carries the band’s legacy forward, with live shows featuring songs heard across film and television, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Phone, Suicide Squad, and Wayne’s World. Sprig of That brings an adventurous acoustic sound to Leola Hall at the Sauk Prairie River Arts Center. The quartet features tabla, fiddle, cello, and guitar, blending Midwestern roots with influences from around the world. Formed in Minneapolis in 2018, the group has performed at venues such as Portland’s Old Church, the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, and Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. They have shared stages with Chris Eldridge, Kristen Andriessen, the Andrew Marlin String Band, and Charlie Parr, and have appeared at the Pickathon and Blue Ox festivals. Their educational work includes workshops created in partnership with Carnegie Hall and Minnesota Public Radio. Their forthcoming album Foragers, developed with producer Jayme Stone, includes guest appearances by Sierra Hull, Olov Johansson of Väsen, Simon Chrisman, Rohith Jayaraman, and Wes Corbett, who produced their 2023 release bloom. Since 2015, this country music bar has served the Wisconsin Dells area with Nashville-inspired food set to a country soundtrack, and it regularly welcomes live performers. Peter Henry Fisk, born in 1985, is an American singer and instrumentalist who began guitar at age nine while studying with Craig Sorrenti and performing around Stockton and Modesto. As a teenager he earned top honors, including first place at the 2002 Stairway to Stardom concert with the rock group Concrete Rose, along with the Louis Armstrong Award and Most Outstanding Jazz Soloist Award in 2004 as part of the Escalon High School Jazz Ensemble. He studied early music under John Schneiderman at the University of California, Irvine, completing an MFA, and performed with the UCI, OCC, and IVC Guitar Ensembles as well as the Cal State Fullerton Orchestra, all while staying active in blues, jazz, and folk circles. His professional career has included an international touring schedule as a singer, opening slots with Shine Delphi and Cowboy Diplomacy, appearances during SXSW 2021 at Native Hostel before Dave Chappelle, and opener dates at The Crystal Grand Music Theater in Wisconsin Dells for Scott Stapp in 2022 and Gary Allen in 2023. Often performing solo and collaborating when the moment calls for it, he brings one-man band interpretations of classics alongside original songs. His work also covers composing and sound design for screen, forming the bands HIYA in 2013, the Ellenwood Kitchen Club in 2015, and The Burps in 2019, as well as teaching for the South Orange County Community College District. Now based in southern Wisconsin, he has released three full-length original albums and continues to craft transcriptions for guitar, mandolin, and banjo that reach from early Americana to recent songs.
