Calvary's 18th Annual Neighborhood Yard Sale welcomes the community to connect with neighbors while browsing a variety of finds. Enjoy complimentary corn on the cob and ice cream as you explore the sale. Those interested in selling can request a reservation form at Calvary or access it through the organization’s website, then print and return the completed form to Calvary. A $10 cash deposit is required and will be refunded if booths are left clean and clear and the bathrooms are left clean and working. Each vendor space equals two parking spaces. Availability is limited and spaces are assigned on a first come basis.

Minocqua Public Library hosts its first author fair featuring writers from across Wisconsin. At ArtStart Rhinelander, a special fundraiser unfolds alongside the All Class Reunion in downtown Rhinelander, presented by the Clambake Society Scholarship Foundation. A public walking group explores the cranberry marsh at Lake Nokomis Cranberries. Participants set out from the Gift Shop and return to the same spot after an approximately 3-mile route on dirt roads and uneven ground. The pace is easy and focused on fresh air and scenic views of the cranberry beds. This activity is weather permitting. Recommended items include comfortable walking shoes, water, and weather-appropriate clothing. It is a friendly setting to meet others and enjoy time outdoors.

This caregiver support group offers a welcoming, safe space for anyone caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. You’ll be able to connect with people who truly understand what you’re going through. The group meets in the History Room and runs as a monthly gathering on the 2nd Monday.

Join Baby Storytime for simple stories, songs, and more. After the storytime, there’s a playtime segment for babies ages 6 to 24 months, with the focus on having fun.

The History Room hosts a discussion of Wildfire Days: a Woman, a Hotshot Crew, and the Burning of the American West by Kelly Ramsey. All are welcome to take part. Registration is not required, and there is no fee to attend.

A sold out paint night at Imperial Estates Clubhouse in Woodruff spotlights BEARly A Moment, an original design. The $40 fee includes your choice of a prepared 18 inch wood bear cutout or an 8x20 canvas, along with paint, brushes, all necessary materials, and detailed, instructor-led guidance. Space is limited, so advance payment is required. PayPal is accepted, and alternatives such as check or Venmo can be arranged. Please note your preference for canvas or bear cutout when registering. Guests may bring their own beverages and snacks. Cancellations within three days of the class are nonrefundable, and transfers to another class are not available.

Come out for Snowshoe Baseball as the Snowhawks take on the Blackbear Bar. A relaxed cookbook club meets at the library for a potluck centered on cooking, tasting, and sharing recipes. August’s featured title is Salad Lab by Darlene Schrijver. The book can be found at the front desk to check out or photocopy, and there may be other cookbooks by the same author or with a similar focus available as well. Bringing a dish is encouraged but not required, and recipes do not have to come from the selected book. Expect plenty to eat and plenty to talk about. New participants are welcome. Feel free to make substitutions, and please let others know about any allergens or food aversions. Guests with dietary restrictions are welcome to take part in the conversation even if they skip certain dishes. The library provides plates, napkins, serving utensils, power outlets, a microwave, and most essentials. No registration is needed. Duplicate dishes might happen, and that is perfectly fine.

The third and final Roots on the Road show of the summer features Karley Davidson at the Northwoods Center at Nicolet College. An acoustic singer-songwriter and loop artist, she builds layered, rhythmic songs in real time on stage. Roots concerts spotlight the music along with the stories behind it, offering a distinctive experience. There is no admission charge and the event is open to the public, made possible by a partnership with WXPR 91.7FM and Nicolet College. A cash bar will be available.

Steely Dane brings a high-energy celebration of Steely Dan to Campanile Center for the Arts. A multiple award winner for best tribute band, the ensemble focuses on faithful performances of the Steely Dan and Donald Fagen catalog while delivering a vibrant live show. Featuring standout jazz and rock musicians from the Midwest, the group mirrors the touring lineup with a four-piece horn section and two backing vocalists. The set spans signature hits and deeper tracks, and at times even full albums, all crafted to get the crowd on its feet and singing along.

No need to be a Deacon Blues superfan to enjoy this show. Steely Dane assembles 14 of Dane County’s finest jazz and rock musicians for a big, bold celebration of Steely Dan and Donald Fagen. With a four-piece horn section, two guitars, two keyboards, commanding vocals, and plenty of musical firepower, this group is anything but an ordinary cover band.
