Confidential Records, an AAA-certified shredding company, will be on site with mobile units and licensed, bonded specialists to securely destroy personal and confidential documents, and the company guarantees the secure removal of all shredded materials. Community residents may bring items such as old tax returns, bank and credit card statements, medical records, and other personal documents, while prohibited items include black butterfly clips, hanging file folders, 3-ring binders, hard drives, magnetic tapes, and plastic items. To ensure space for residents, businesses are asked not to participate. The event will take place rain or shine, and participants are welcome to watch the shredding as it happens for added peace of mind. A beginner friendly Hockey Initiation Program at Manitowoc County Ice Center helps kids ages 4 to 10 learn to skate and get comfortable with hockey fundamentals. No prior skating experience is required. The first session is free, and participants can begin any week during the season. Children build confidence while practicing balance and skating, puck handling and passing, shooting and stopping, as well as edges and forward and backward skating. Participants use only their hands to create a lap blanket that often grows to a full-body size. A very tight stitch can be about 45 by 42, while most turn out larger. Choose a looser or tighter style to achieve the look you like, then head home with a finished blanket in a blanket bag, plus emailed instructions and yarn-buying tips for future projects. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited, first come, first served. Two pricing options are available. The $65 option lets you pick from the yarn colors brought to the workshop. The $85 option allows you to preselect one or two colors from a premium, softer, thicker yarn that tends to hide small imperfections and offers many color choices. Back again is a custom-made 14-foot Evergleam, generously donated to Manitowoc Aluminum Kitsch-Mas Inc. by two sisters from Kansas. Mirro ephemera on loan from Manitowoc County Historical Society adds deeper community context. Expect a festive mix of glitter, glitz, history, and kitsch throughout the library's welcoming spaces.

Dr. Evergleam, also known as the Aluminum Arborist, Jordan Kabat, hosts a repair clinic for Evergleam aluminum trees in the Glittering ER. Many of these trees are more than sixty years old and benefit from careful restoration, and Kabat has devoted thousands of hours to bringing them and their accessories back to life. With assistance from Nurse Sparkle, Barb Bundy-Jost, the clinic offers focused repair consultations in the Second Floor Balkansky Evergleam-ER. Appointments are required through online registration. After signing up, registrants are contacted in advance so Dr. Evergleam can review specific concerns and schedule an appropriate one-on-one session. If several people share similar aluminum tree issues, a group appointment may be arranged.
