This 30 minute storytime features stories, songs, and engaging activities that build early literacy skills. It is intended for children from birth through kindergarten along with their caregivers, offering a balanced mix of fun and education.

Enjoy a free weekly storytime for emerging readers, sponsored by ConocoPhillips Alaska. Families can settle into chairs or cozy floor pillows while animal-themed picture books are shared aloud. The program is especially suited for ages 4 to 7, and a parent, guardian, or relative is required to remain with children. All ages are welcome, and no registration is needed. During the summer, kids can add a Little Explorers tour that pauses at some of the cutest animals. Tickets are available online or at the gate, members receive a 50 percent discount, and the tour wraps up at the Coffee Shop. If you plan to explore the zoo after storytime, regular admission or membership applies for entry to the trails. The Gift Shop is located at the entrance, and the Kape Espresso Tayo coffee shop can be found inside the zoo.

A casual monthly social centered on diving conversation, refreshments, and easy connection. Local divers gather to meet new buddies and reconnect with familiar faces in a relaxed setting. Families and non-diving friends are welcome, and even a pet ferret can tag along. Bring food and drinks to share, then settle in for friendly dialogue and community.

A guided hike explores the Rodak Trail area at a toddler-friendly pace and lasts about an hour. No registration is needed. It is intended for babies and children up to age six who are accompanied by an adult, and older siblings are welcome to attend. Please leave pets at home. Check-in takes place at the ERNC main building.
