Get an up close look at raptors and clever corvids while learning how each species behaves and the adaptations that help them survive. Avian trainers demonstrate and explain the positive methods they use when working with the Ambassador Birds. Depending on the program, you may meet one or more ambassadors such as Ghost and Frost, snowy owls, Echo the great horned owl, Culuk the bald eagle, Breland the peregrine falcon, Keear the red-tailed hawk, Shavila the black-billed magpie, and Zahra the American crow. The experience lasts about 30 to 45 minutes and takes place outdoors beneath a tent. Admission is 10 dollars for adults and for anyone over 12, and children 12 and under attend free.

The crew will brush the trail with hand tools such as handsaws and loppers. This event is sponsored by Chugach Park Fund.

Alaska Jazz Workshop, in partnership with the Anchorage Downtown Partnership, marks its fifth season with a series of 11 free outdoor jazz concerts on the lawn of the Anchorage Museum in downtown Anchorage. The lineup highlights local musicians from South Central Alaska and explores a vibrant mix of jazz, blues, Latin jazz, and funk. This concert spotlights the AJW Jazz Camp Student and Faculty Ensembles, featuring all-star performers from the 39th AJW Jazz Camp delivering lively jazz, blues, and funk. Pack a lawn chair and settle in for live music from Anchorage’s jazz community. Presented in collaboration with the Anchorage Museum, with support from the Atwood Foundation.

Bosco's Comics Cards & Games hosts a Pokémon event that pairs a free learn to play session with an $8 Standard tournament. A Play Pokémon teacher is assigned to help players learn the official rules and build confidence before competitive rounds. Tournament decks must be Standard legal. Prize support uses BOSCO'S Bucks, with two $4 BOSCO'S Bucks per player, one returned as a participation reward and one added to the prize pool. First place receives half of the pool rounded down, capped at 36 BOSCO'S Bucks. Each subsequent place takes half of what remains, rounded down, in order.

Play Shadowverse Evolve in a weekly shop tournament open to newcomers and experienced players. Test and refine your deck ideas, face friendly competition, and meet others who enjoy the game. Participation promos are available for everyone, and extra prizes go to the top finishers. Entry is free.

Live music and food trucks turn the museum lawn into a casual outdoor hangout for Lunch on the Lawn. This weekly series features performers from the local scene alongside national acts, and may also include short learning sessions, community discussions, and family-friendly games. Activities change from week to week and the outdoor programming is free to attend. If it rains, everything shifts inside the museum and regular admission will be required. Featured artists across the run include Joe Schumacher, Ginger & Ale, Fiona Rose, Santoro, Uncle Jim, and Big Tim & Tall Order, with additional performers to be announced.

This work party features Alaska Native Plant Society volunteers who care for the native wildflower gardens at Campbell Creek Science Center throughout the summer. Gardening tools are provided. RSVPs are requested through the CCSC garden work party signup sheet, and there are several day and time options to choose from. Participants can learn practical techniques for gardening with native plants, get to know wildflower species that flourish in Southcentral Alaska, and contribute to stewardship on public lands.

Celebrate the close of summer with the final Suburban Challenge of the season, a free, family-friendly outing. Participants can run or walk to as many business checkpoints as possible, gather raffle tickets along the way, then head back to the Healthwise parking lot for a parking lot party and raffle. The list of business checkpoints will be announced at the event. Pets are welcome. Bring a canned food donation to receive an extra ticket at check-in.

Miniatures hit the table for an open night of Warhammer at Bosco's Comics Cards & Games in the Spenard location. Judges are available to keep games running smoothly and to assist newcomers. Players can borrow armies, and mats and terrain are provided, which allows easy participation in matches. This regular weekly night is free to play and welcomes all skill levels. In addition to Warhammer, other model games are encouraged, with recent interest in Trench Crusade and Warhammer Fantasy.
