Toyota Field sets the stage for Partnership's 6th Annual Pulln' For Recovery Truck Pull, a family friendly fundraiser where teams put their strength to the test. Groups of 10 race to haul a 46,000 pound fire truck across 100 feet, with multiple divisions keeping the competition lively at the Trash Pandas home field. Awards recognize standout efforts, including fastest time in first responder and community categories, top fundraising team, most enthusiastic team, and even the slowest pull. Teams can capture photos with the fire truck, and the day doubles as a community celebration that uplifts a vital mission. Every dollar raised supports Partnership for a Drug-Free Community programs serving Northern Alabama, helping provide free substance abuse assessments, youth education, and connections to treatment. Registration is $250 per team with a maximum of 10 participants, online sign up is available, and ages 16 and older may take part with parental consent required for minors. Since 1988, Partnership for a Drug-Free Community has been a trusted local resource for prevention and recovery support.

Led by a certified forest therapy guide, the mindful practice encourages slowing down, engaging all the senses, quieting the mind, and becoming fully present. Grounded in scientific research, it is open to anyone and is associated with benefits such as stress reduction and support for the immune system. Over a two hour period, participants receive a series of gentle invitations that foster engagement with the surroundings and highlight the health benefits nature can provide. The class is held in person at Huntsville Botanical Garden. It starts indoors and wraps up out in the Garden. The walk is facilitated by Josh Harris, a Huntsville-based mental health counselor and Certified Forest Therapy Guide. His background in mindfulness therapy and education in forest therapy informs his approach, and his calm, welcoming presence helps create a comfortable atmosphere for participants.

Monarch butterflies make a long seasonal trek from Canada to Mexico to spend the winter in warmer conditions. They follow known migration corridors and pause briefly along the way, and from September through mid October their path includes Huntsville, Alabama. This program offers a presentation about monarchs and their migration, followed by a live release of butterflies inside the Purdy Butterfly House. Attendees can learn about the journey these insects undertake and watch the monarchs take flight within the butterfly house.
