Governor's Square Branch LibrarySummer Fund and Food Drive 2026
With a new location, the Heart of Alabama Food Bank partners with WSFA-TV and Dixie Electric Cooperative for the Annual Summer Fund and Food Drive. Organizers will be in a parking lot accepting food and monetary donations that support children, families, and seniors across the community during the summer months, a time when need increases. Information on the most needed items, what cannot be accepted, and options for giving online if in-person drop off is not possible is available on the food bank’s website. The effort aims to fill trucks and restock shelves so neighbors have what they need throughout the season.

At Chisholm Community Center, this family-friendly stop in the City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Midnight Summer Jam series features sports and friendly competition, plus energetic entertainment for all ages.
