Now in its second year, Christmas in July with ASI is a free community celebration featuring family friendly fun and a school supply drive in partnership with SHE, Inc. For every five new school supply items donated, attendees receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win $500 cash. Activities include pictures with Santa, sno-cones, a photo booth, kids games, goodie bags for children, free hot dogs and hamburgers provided by First Security Bank with the Teal Grill, Christmas themed wash off tattoos, appearances by one or more favorite holiday characters, music, prizes, and a slip n slide. Attendees can ask questions and receive practical guidance on topics such as labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, birth plans, and mental health concerns including postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety, in an interactive, face to face setting that helps cut through online information overload. Experience a campus-wide challenge with an annual 10k obstacle run hosted by Howls Heroes, an A-State student organization. The course features 16 or more obstacles and uses staggered wave starts, with separate waves for Sports and CrossFit teams, JROTC and high school teams, the general public, and SROTC and military members. Every participant must submit a signed A-State Howler 2020 Hold Harmless Agreement to the listed contacts in advance or bring it on race day. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian to sign the form before competing. Specific start details will be shared with groups ahead of time. Entry costs are $30 per person or $125 for a group of five.

Fall 2026 Nursing & Health Professions Career Fair
Hosted by the A-State Career Development & Engagement Office at the Cooper Alumni Center, this two-day career fair connects healthcare employers with Arkansas State University students seeking internships, clinical experiences, residencies, and full-time positions. Open to all A-State students, it highlights opportunities across nursing and other health professions as well as administrative, business, and support roles within healthcare organizations. Presented in partnership with the College of Nursing & Health Professions, the schedule spans two days to broaden student participation and help employers engage with multiple student cohorts. Employers may register for one or both days. The fee includes registration for two recruiters, one six-foot table, and two chairs, with additional registration options available. All proceeds benefit the Jonesboro Police DARE program.

This event features certified 13.1, 10K, and 5K courses that start and finish at NEA Baptist Hospital, with a blend of rolling hills and flat sections. Courses will be clearly marked with volunteers along the way, and police will be present at busy intersections while also leading the half marathon. The half marathon has a 3.5 hour time limit, equal to a 16 minute per mile pace, and participants not maintaining that pace may be asked to leave the course. Half marathon and 10K participants must register as runners. The 5K offers separate running and walking categories, and anyone registered as a walker must walk the entire distance. Runners and walkers should choose the appropriate category to keep the competition fair. Updates and any changes will be shared on the Heart and Sole Half Marathon 5K 10K Facebook page.
