People new to polymer clay and those with experience are both welcome. Sessions cover the essentials of working with this medium, including how to choose reliable brands, how to condition clay properly, and the temperatures needed for curing. Printed guides are provided. Participants will explore color blending, create patterned canes that can be sliced, and imitate semi-precious stones, along with other creative techniques. Each meeting highlights a new skill or offers time to build on a current project. A limited number of pasta machines will be available, though bringing a personal machine is encouraged. Clay can be purchased during class for $3 per piece. If buying supplies beforehand, Premo Sculpey is recommended, not Sculpey III. Molly’s Favourite brings traditional Irish folk to The Allies Pub with a spirited set shaped by more than 25 years in the local music scene. As one of only three traditional Irish bands in Chico, the group has welcomed a rotating lineup over the decades, keeping the sound rooted in community and tradition. The repertoire spans Irish jigs, reels, and ballads, and also reaches into Scottish, English, and other Celtic tunes, along with a few well-loved songs. The instrumentation features fiddles, mandolin, flutes, penny whistles, guitars, bass, bodhráns, button accordion, and the occasional tenor banjo. The band name honors Molly, the daughter of an early member and a champion Irish step dancer in her youth. Hosted by community member owner Mark Gailey, this monthly appearance fills The Allies Pub with lively melodies and good craic.
