The USRA 2026 US National Rafting Championships are an in-person racing event where US teams compete for eligibility to represent the U.S. at the 2027 International Rafting Events under the United Rafting Federation. Teams will race in three disciplines: Sprint, Slalom, and RX/Head-to-Head (modified to fit USRA capabilities). SOTAR rafts are provided for the competition. Para-Rafting teams are welcome and will compete under URF Annex A. All experience levels are welcome. Participants work on essential skills such as sit, down, stay, stand, recall, and watch me, along with polite greetings, calm behavior for petting, loose leash walking, focus around distractions, and impulse control. The curriculum also includes preparation for the Canine Good Citizen program. Puppies under one year old may test for the AKC STAR Puppy title after completing six classes, which can be a helpful first step toward CGC. The program is led by Aaron Wood with Aaron’s Pawsitive Coaching and is held outdoors, so dressing for the weather is recommended. The cost is $350 for six classes. For everyone’s safety and comfort, dogs must remain on leash at all times. Dogs in heat are not permitted, and harsh corrections, e-collars, prong collars, shock collars, and retractable leashes are not allowed. Please give other dogs and handlers plenty of space, and plan for one adult handler per dog.
