R&B and soul legends Tower of Power and WAR come together for a high-energy show as part of the Table Mountain Concert Series presented by Modelo Especial and Toyota at The Big Fresno Fair. With decades of hits, tight horns, and feel-good grooves, this concert brings funk and soul to the forefront. Tickets start at $25. Since 1968, Tower of Power has shaped the Oakland soul sound with a bold mix of funk and soul. Their Warner Bros. breakthrough Bump City introduced enduring favorites such as You’re Still a Young Man, So Very Hard to Go, and What Is Hip?, and their horn section and live intensity have become a hallmark. The band has toured worldwide and shared stages with artists including Elton John, Santana, and Aerosmith. Formed in 1969, WAR is a multicultural group that fuses funk, soul, rock, Latin, and jazz in service of brotherhood and harmony. Discovered by producer Jerry Goldstein and joined early on by Eric Burdon of The Animals, the band used message-driven songs to address racism, hunger, and violence while promoting unity and hope. Their spirit and grooves remain as relevant and electrifying today. Please note the Clear Bag Policy. Bags must be transparent and no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches. Diles Que No Me Maten and more

Tower Theatre, 1211 N Wishon Ave, Fresno · verified Oct 2
    See details

Diles que no me maten teams up with Phantom Fruit for a performance at Tower Theatre. The Mexico City quintet, founded in 2017 by brothers Raúl and Gerardo Ponce, builds songs from free-flowing improvisation, merging krautrock pulses with taut art rock, blues-kissed ballads, and a sense of lyrical mysticism. Their fourth release, Escrito en Agua (Writ in Water), moves toward a more focused and approachable sound while keeping their exploratory spirit at the center. Onstage, Raúl drives the drums, Gerardo handles guitar, Andrés Lupone anchors the bass, Jerónimo Elizondo-García moves between guitar and clarinet, and Jonás Derbez adds vocals and saxophone, tracing a path from the raw spark of the 2020 EP Cayó de su Gloria el Diablo and the LP Edificio to the evolving energy of La Vida de Alguien Más and its flowing follow-up, Obrigaggi. The show is open to all ages.
