Nancy also co-founded an organization that brings poetry into jails and offers workshops for marginalized youth in the county. Adela’s fifth collection, Variations in Blue, was published in 2025 through the Letras Latinas and Red Hen collaborative. The California Arts Council recognized her as an established artist in the Central California Region and named her an Individual Artist Fellow. With family roots in Nicaragua, she serves as Board President of Círculo de Poetas and Writers and collaborates with Latinx communities nationwide to connect creative writing with social justice. Wine and refreshments will be available, with time to mingle and a Q&A where attendees can ask both poets about their writing and their efforts to bring poetry to marginalized communities.
