Tuesday Night Dance: Hip Hop
Experience a hip hop dance session at Segerstrom Center for the Arts that celebrates personal style and musicality. Rooted in street dance traditions, the class builds rhythm, confidence, and expression through foundational grooves and new choreography in a welcoming, high energy setting. It is suitable for beginners as well as experienced dancers, with a focus on moving, sweating, and having fun. Instruction is led by Sakina Ibrahim, founder of Dance Arts Academy Foundation, a program in Orange County and Los Angeles that offers classes such as Creative Movement, Hip Hop, Latin, and Ballet Folklorico. Her background includes intensive study at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, the Bates Dance Festival, and Broadway Dance Center, along with cultural immersion at the Dagbe Cultural Arts Center in Ghana.
