Bring your racquet and get ready for a fast-paced tennis clinic designed for young beginners. City of Lodi coaches will lead drills, games, and live play to help kids build confidence on the court, whether they’re brand new or want to sharpen their skills. Supplies needed are a tennis racket, water, and tennis shoes.

Oil Painting with Marilyn Eger - August Session 1 — Lodi Community Art Center

Join instructor Marilyn Eger for an oil painting class where you’ll paint a subject based on your own photo. This is the first of two sessions, and you’ll start by toning your canvas with a warm color ahead of time so it’s ready for class. Bring two photos of the image you want to paint, one in black and white and one in color, and make sure the photo matches the size of your canvas. You’ll transfer the image to your canvas using carbon paper, and Marilyn will help with composition, color theory, and color mixing as you work toward completing your painting. The class is open to all experience levels, with a focus on students from high school through adults.

The session covers the basics of color theory, how to mix colors, water control, and a chance to practice several watercolor techniques. If you have your own watercolor supplies, bring them along. Supplies may also be available to purchase for an additional $10.

Dream Big Training Center

Sniff and Go 8/11/2026

Sniff and Go is a hide-and-seek style dog search event with hides set for all skill levels, and beginner dogs are welcome. You’ll run one or two stations that each have multiple elements set up, moving from station to station as needed. Hide locations stay the same during the day but change from day to day. You can choose to run your areas as either a blind search or a known search, and you can sign up for multiple dogs. Each run is about 20 minutes, and your assigned start time is an estimate, so you may start a little earlier or later. Payment is $30 per slot per dog by cash or check, or $32 per slot per dog via PayPal.

Paint Nite: Paint Your Person

Get ready for a paint-and-sip session where you will create “Paint Your Person” at Kings Card Club. No experience is needed, and all the supplies are included, so you can focus on enjoying the guided painting session. The class features two painted portraits, with a man and woman on separate canvases, and you will get step-by-step help as you go. It is for ages 21+ and you will need a valid ID at the door. You can also order a drink from the bar while you paint.

You will paint from your own photo, and you can choose the subject.
