This free, in-person workshop from Outcome School is designed for kids ages 7 to 13 who want to try building a game for the first time. Participants begin with a simple starter project and leave with a playable game they created. The session introduces coding concepts in an approachable way, nurtures imagination, and strengthens logical thinking and problem solving. With guidance from experienced mentors in a supportive setting, kids grow their confidence as they craft something they can proudly share. It offers a friendly introduction to the skills behind careers in technology.

While the museum building is temporarily closed for renovations, this visit takes you into the ongoing daily excavations and offers access to experiences usually reserved for the scientific team. Get a close look at bubbling asphalt, see the well-known mammoth family along Wilshire Boulevard, and learn how dire wolves and saber-toothed cats once preyed on giant sloths and Columbian mammoths. Explore what is described as the world’s only active fossil excavation located within a city as you travel back as far as 50,000 years and meet researchers uncovering discoveries every day. Kids can let loose at a lively balloon-filled dance party at Adam’s Garden Indoor Playground. Expect upbeat music, glowing lights, and plenty of room to move in a safe, playful setting that welcomes all ages. Members attend at no cost. Non-members are $25 per child, with $20 for each additional sibling, and there is no fee for siblings 9 months and under or for parents and caregivers. Socks are required inside the playground. No reservations are needed. Parking is available in the Sherman Oaks Galleria structure with validation for three hours.
