Throughout the tasting, Diego Meraviglia will share the story of Charles Heidsieck, known as Champagne Charlie, whose personality and bold vision helped bring Champagne to new audiences around the world. Diego is an internationally recognized sommelier, educator, and luxury wine executive from Northern Piemonte who began formal studies in Milan and built a global career across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. He serves as West Coast Brand Ambassador for Charles Heidsieck Champagne, is a founding member and President of the North American Sommelier Association, and holds advanced credentials from the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers, the Court of Master Sommeliers, and the Society of Wine Educators. His accolades include the AIS–Villa Sandi award for innovation and a fifth-place finish at the Worldwide Sommelier Association’s 2013 Best Sommelier of the World competition. From 2017 to 2021, he represented Dom Pérignon in the United States.

The evening highlights the group’s lasting impact on post-punk, alternative, and indie rock, as well as the strong following their music holds in Mexico.
