Painting with Purpose is a youth enrichment experience for children ages 7 and older. Weekly classes led by an instructor focus on painting skills and exploration of techniques, helping participants grow their creativity, build self-confidence, and develop emotional insight and compassion. Children practice new methods and express themselves through art during structured, guided sessions.

Part of the Pomona Concert Band’s 79th Annual Summer Concert Series at Palomares Park, this program spotlights Conductor Favorites under the direction of Artistic Director Linda W. Taylor with columnist David Allen serving as master of ceremonies. The concert features music Taylor has cherished with the ensemble, including Toccata for Band, On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss, Sousa’s Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Days of Wine and Roses, and Marching Down Broadway. Performances in the series are free to the public, and a concession stand is available. The Pomona Concert Band, sponsored by the City of Pomona, brings together musicians from Pomona and more than twenty nearby communities and has been a cultural presence since its founding in 1947.
