Opening night of the LA Jazz Festival brings a free celebration to Leimert Park, featuring performances by Lalah Hathaway and Chief Adjuah along with additional artists, plus art, food, and music. Over 17 days, the festival aims to welcome 250,000 attendees and turn the entire city into its stage. Founded by Martin Ludlow, it seeks to become the third-largest international jazz festival and the largest Black-owned jazz festival, celebrating jazz while driving regional economic activity, uplifting minority- and women-owned businesses, and maintaining a commitment to social justice and environmental responsibility.

Part of the Pomona Concert Band’s 79th Annual Summer Concert Series at Palomares Park, this program spotlights Conductor Favorites under the direction of Artistic Director Linda W. The Pomona Concert Band, sponsored by the City of Pomona, brings together musicians from Pomona and more than twenty nearby communities and has been a cultural presence since its founding in 1947.
