Hosted at Caltech, this weeklong chamber music workshop brings adult players together with Salastina’s resident artists for immersive music-making and community. Participants rehearse and read chamber works, receive coaching and take part in masterclasses, and share a culminating performance. Each day offers small-ensemble sessions, informal reading, coached rehearsals, and time for conversation over shared meals, plus evening talks that explore interpretation, craft, and the realities of musical life. The focus is on collaboration, growth, and genuine connection in a welcoming setting where musicians make music alongside the Salastina team. Adult participants with solid reading skills and a love of ensemble playing are welcome, and no professional background is required.

At the Hollywood Bowl, pianist Angela Hewitt performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22 with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, led by Nicolas Ellis in his debut at this venue. The program opens with the overture to Don Giovanni, continues with the concerto, and concludes with Symphony No. 41, known as Jupiter. Hewitt’s approach to the concerto has been praised by Seen and Heard International for revealing fresh dimensions in the music through polished artistry and a sense of wit. Part of the Pomona Concert Band’s 79th Annual Summer Concert Series at Palomares Park, this program spotlights Conductor Favorites under the direction of Artistic Director Linda W.
