A tide-assisted, one-way paddle sets out from the downtown Petaluma docks and follows the current about six miles downstream to Lakeville Landing Marina in stay-dry Hobie pedal kayaks. The route moves through protected wetlands with abundant birdlife such as egrets, herons, and mallards, offering a quiet view of a lesser-seen stretch of the river. At the marina, an optional 90-minute recovery session with Sundrop Sauna is available, featuring a sauna with a picture window, an outdoor shower, a cold plunge, cozy seating, hot tea, wetland views across the river, and a changing room. New for this outing, a grazing box from LaBella Charcuterie can be added with regular, vegetarian, or vegan options, delivered to the landing. Pricing is $85 for the paddle, $40 for the sauna and cold plunge, which is $5 below the community sauna price, and $15 for the grazing box. Participants may choose only the paddle, the paddle with sauna and cold plunge, or all three. Capacity is limited for this collaboration. Transportation planning is recommended, such as leaving a car at the sauna site or arranging a return ride to Petaluma after the session.

The PlazaThe Rubinoos
KC Turner presents a matinee with The Rubinoos in the HopMonk Novato Session Room. This partially seated show welcomes all ages. Formed by longtime friends Jon Rubin and Tommy Dunbar, the Berkeley based band began performing as teenagers and signed to Beserkley Records alongside Jonathan Richman and Greg Kihn. Their 1977 debut album brought national attention, and they went on to make records with Todd Rundgren, Kevin Gilbert, and Chuck Prophet. The Rubinoos have shared stages with Elvis Costello and Tom Petty, appeared on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, and recorded the theme for Revenge of the Nerds. Their version of I Think We’re Alone Now introduced the third season of the Netflix series Sex Education. Now signed to Yep Roc Records, they perform regularly in Japan, Europe, and at festivals and clubs across the United States.

The Cruisin’ Hooters series returns in 2026, presented by Cruisin’ North Car Club, Inc. Classic vehicles from 1986 and earlier, all makes, are the focus of this monthly cruise-in that runs from June through November. At each gathering except the December edition, Hooters selects a Best of Show. Please avoid parking in front of nearby businesses such as Mattress Firm. Hooters offers a meal deal reserved for participants showing a vehicle and for those who purchase raffle tickets. Options include a half pound bacon cheeseburger, eight boneless wings, a chicken sandwich, three tenders, eight fried shrimp, or a garden chicken salad, with curly fries included except with the salad. Menu items and pricing may change. December features a Toys for Tots collection, and attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy. If rain is in the forecast, donations can be dropped off using a daily driver, and there is no raffle in December.

Rohnert Park Latino Heritage Night presents a featured set in the Party On The Plaza Music Series by Momotombo-SF, a ten-piece Latin rock ensemble with former members of Malo and Santana. The band blends Latin jazz and rock with propulsive Latin grooves and Afro-Cuban rhythms, echoing the groundbreaking San Francisco scene and the psychedelic spirit of venues like Winterland and The Fillmore. The group is led by Leo Rosales, an original member of Malo, alongside longtime Malo lead guitarist Gabriel Manzo, creating a faithful, high-energy sound shaped by decades on stage. The name honors the Malo track “Momotombo” from the 1972 album Malo Dos and the Nicaraguan volcano of the same name, while “SF” highlights the Bay Area roots. Members have shared stages with artists including Santana, the Jorge Santana Band, Sly & the Family Stone, Taj Mahal, Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, Los Lobos, Pete Escovedo, and Bo Diddley. At the practice spot, boards are anchored together so the tide does not disrupt the flow. The class then moves through gentle movement, stretching, breathwork, and restful pauses, guided by clear instruction. All equipment is provided, including extra-stable boards approximately 34 inches wide and 11 feet long, offering a secure surface that feels larger than a mat. Offered from April through October, this $50 experience focuses on simple time in nature and the calm of being on the water.

Amy Winehouse blended jazz, soul, and rhythm and blues with candid lyrics, earning worldwide acclaim and a lasting legacy. Her accolades include multiple Grammy Awards, among them Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and Record of the Year in 2008, as well as Best Pop/Duo Group Performance in 2012. Alongside Kathy Kallick, she earned a Grammy and two International Bluegrass Music Association awards for contributions to True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe. Both artists have released around two dozen albums and have received Lifetime Member Awards from the California Bluegrass Association. Laurie has twice been named IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year, and all Kathy Kallick Band albums have landed in the Top 10 of the National Bluegrass Survey and Folk Alliance International charts. “This is my favorite bluegrass album in years!” wrote Stephen D. Winick in a Huffington Post review of Laurie & Kathy Sing the Songs of Vern & Ray. The celebration reflects a life that began in Florence, Alabama, where she sang harmonies at the renowned Muscle Shoals studios on classics like Percy Sledge’s When a Man Loves a Woman and Elvis Presley’s Suspicious Minds. After moving to California, she married Keith Godchaux, helped usher him into the Grateful Dead, and lent her own luminous voice to the band for nearly a decade. She and Keith later founded the Heart of Gold Band, and although Keith’s passing brought that early chapter to a close, the partnership of Steve Kimock and Greg Anton that emerged from it led to Zero and more memorable music. The event begins at the Hamilton Field History Museum with an illustrated presentation inside, then continues with a guided walk to explore historic sites around the former base. The talk highlights the early and quirky history of Hamilton, including how an Italian chef named Salvatore helped bring an air base to Marin, tales of animals repeatedly outwitting the base commander, the story of a Native-American commander honored with a song in Osage, the reasons a lieutenant general and a lieutenant colonel put women pilots in charge of ferrying different aircraft, and unexpected links to Abbot and Costello as well as the Dalai Lama. Afterward, participants set out on a route of about two miles, with a one mile option, that is mostly level with a brief steep hill near the finish. Baritone Richard Alexandre Rittelmann of the Opéra National de Paris in France appears alongside coloratura soprano Shawnette Sulker, lyric soprano Raeeka Yaghmai, mezzo soprano Deborah Rosengaus, and lyric tenor Vicente Alvarez Maire, with pianist and music director Alex Katsman accompanying. Presented by the Downtown Novato Business Association, this long-running celebration turns Downtown Novato into an open-air car showcase. Seven blocks of Grant Avenue are closed to traffic for a full day so enthusiasts can explore hundreds of vehicles, including classic cars, hot rods, trucks, and customs. Free admission welcomes thousands who take in the sights to a soundtrack of classic rock, with rockabilly sets by Mitch Pollzak and The Royal Deuces. The afternoon wraps up with awards across multiple categories, plus cash prizes for Best in Show and the People’s Choice. Ahead of the main showcase, a police escorted Hot Rod Cruise rolls through downtown and draws cheers from local families.

Presented by KC Turner, Jackie Greene and his band headline an outdoor show at HopMonk Novato as part of the 13th Annual Cookout Concert Series, with Jon Chi & the Pacific Syndicate joining the lineup. Sponsored by JAMBAR. Greene is an Americana and roots songwriter known for shifting effortlessly from soul-leaning piano pieces to gritty, blues-driven guitar, a range that also saw him serve as lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013. His The Modern Lives projects explore American styles from Delta blues to bluegrass and folk, and his collaboration with animator Bill Plympton yielded an award-winning short that screened at notable festivals. Expect a primarily standing experience on the main floor. Seating is limited and first come, with lawn seating and tables at the top of the hill, and low-back chairs allowed in the lawn section. The concert is all ages, children need their own ticket, and babies in arms are not permitted. The venue is outdoors, parking is free with ample space, and pets, coolers, backpacks, outside food, and umbrellas are not allowed.

The 9th annual Cruisin' North car show benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association returns to the Petaluma Plaza North Shopping Center. Spectating is free to the public, and the event takes place rain or shine with dash plaques, space for up to 200 vehicles, and a family friendly atmosphere. Expect music, vendors, a raffle, and food from businesses in the shopping center. Vehicle entry is open to pre-1986 makes and models. Registration is $45 in advance and $50 on the day of the show. Trophies span many categories, including pre-1939, 1940s, Chevy Tri-5, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, convertibles, muscle car, Chevelle, Camaro, Mustang, Mopar muscle, rat rod, pickups including Chevy and GMC C-10 and K-10, under construction, foreign non VW, Volkswagen, four doors and wagons, and low rider, plus Traditional Rod and Custom, People’s Choice, Best in Show, Kid’s Choice, and a memorial Bad Ass award in memory of Bonnie Jenkins. A Show and Shine area is available for 1980 to 1986 vehicles and for modern muscle from 1987 and up with no trophies. A pinup contest produced by the Nor Cal Pin Up Girls offers a goody bag for entering, prizes for the top three, is limited to ten participants, and has a theme to be announced. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
