At The Alembic, this vigorous vinyasa practice led by Anne-René blends movement, breath, and mindful transitions to cultivate balance in body, mind, and spirit. The class unfolds as a moving meditation with challenging sequences, inviting focused attention to how each posture is entered and exited so a steady, contemplative rhythm can arise. Hand mudras, chanting, inspired readings, and music are woven throughout to foster a heartfelt connection to the flow. Anne-René brings experience as a dance artist, an Alexander Technique teacher, and the artistic director of Sculpted Motion. She began studying yoga in New York City in the 1990s and received a Vinyasa teaching certification from the White Lotus Foundation in 2008. Her teaching is shaped by guidance from Ty Landrum, Sara Baird, Erin Dudley, Keith Borden, Cindi Lee's Om Yoga Center, Laughing Lotus Yoga, and the anatomical perspectives of Irene Dowd and Leslie Kaminoff. Additional influences include Krishnamurti, Ram Das, Kundalini yoga, Gaga, and Gyrotonic. She draws creative energy from the sky by day and night, the grace of animals and trees, the power of poetry, and the resilience and kindness found in people, teaching from a place of continual growth and flow.
