Bike East Bay offers an interactive, hands-on workshop that covers the essentials of repairing a flat tire and patching an inner tube, along with practical tips for avoiding flats. Participants may bring a wheel with a flat to practice on, or use one of the class demonstration wheels. No prior repair experience is required. For e-bikes and other complex wheel setups, wheels with hub motors or internal gear hubs will not be detached because of time and mechanical constraints, so those riders can practice on the demo wheels instead. This workshop is funded by the City of Hayward’s Active Transportation Education and Promotion Program, which is supported by California Climate Investments.
