Damage Inc presents a tribute to Metallica’s Cliff Burton era as part of the New 1st Friday Concert series, joined by a special guest. The series also features Allison Road, a tribute to the Gin Blossoms, local favorite Mark Claron and the Baccus Brothers, Livermore’s own rock band Frequency, and a Labor Day weekend concert with Def Lepp, a tribute to Def Leppard. Admission is free. Presented by Regency Talent Group and Headyworks Brewing Co.

Fire Pit Fridays at Del Valle Winery offers an easygoing night of wine, food, and live music under the open sky. The Vigilantes perform throughout the evening, creating a soundtrack that works for dancing, swaying, or simply relaxing. Del Valle wines are paired with tasty bites from the kitchen. Tri-Valley Theatre Company presents The SpongeBob Musical at The Bankhead, a lively stage adventure for all ages that dives into the heart of Bikini Bottom. When their undersea community faces a major threat, SpongeBob and his friends rally to protect their home, telling a story that celebrates community and courage with plenty of humor and imagination. The score spans a wide range of styles with music by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! at the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, and T.I., plus songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton and additional music is by Tom Kitt. The show is based on the series created by Stephen Hillenburg, with a book by Kyle Jarrow and the musical production conceived by Tina Landau. An ASL interpreted performance is planned, with interpreters positioned on the right side of the theater.

Concerts on the Plaza continues at the historic Niles Town Plaza with Jinx Jones and the Kingtones, a local favorite delivering energetic rockabilly. Enjoy a free, family friendly afternoon of live music in the heart of Niles. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to settle in and listen.

California Jay and the Coupe DeVille Band bring a high-energy funk dance set to the World Famous Turf Club, joined by a rotating lineup of special guest performers. Part of the Golden Gate Blues Society’s 2nd Sunday Dance/Concert, this show features a lively dance floor and continuous grooves. Tacos and drinks are available to keep the energy up.
