This outdoor group dog obedience class welcomes all experience levels and uses force free, reward based methods that strengthen the bond between handlers and their dogs. Sessions adapt to the needs of the teams present, keeping the training tailored and engaging. Participants practice core behaviors such as sit, down, stay, stand, coming when called, and watch me. The class also covers polite greetings and sitting for petting, loose leash walking and focus, impulse control, working around distractions, and preparation for the Canine Good Citizen test. Puppies under one year may test for the AKC STAR Puppy title after completing six classes. The series is led by Aaron Wood of Aaron’s Pawsitive Coaching and is held outdoors, so plan for the weather. The cost is $350 for six classes. For safety and comfort, keep dogs leashed at all times, give other teams space, and limit participation to one adult handler per dog. Dogs in heat are not permitted. Harsh corrections, e-collars, prong or shock collars, and retractable leashes are not allowed. Please bring proof of current vaccinations and ID, a 6 foot leash and a 15 to 20 foot long line for distance work, plenty of high value treats, water for both you and your dog, potty bags, and an optional chair. Arrive with a positive attitude and be ready to learn together.
