Born in Melbourne’s late 1980s club culture alongside EDM, shuffle has moved from nightlife floors to festivals and dance communities around the world. Each class breaks down essential techniques, including core footwork, musicality and timing, seamless transitions, flow, confidence, self expression, and linking movement to the beat. Comfortable shoes and plenty of positive energy are recommended. Jasper, a Bay Area native, began dancing in 2009 through a high school hip hop club, later leading the group and discovering a love for teaching. In 2021, he performed with a team featured on Season 16 of America’s Got Talent, then continued to teach, compete, and perform across the United States and abroad, including Los Angeles, Seattle, Texas, Paris, and Jamaica. Specializing in shuffle dance and breakdancing, he brings an upbeat, supportive, community focused approach to every class. At Luna Del Soul - House of Dance in Redwood City, dancers gather for guided Latin practice rounds designed to prepare competitors at every level. The format blends straight finals with rounds run in heats, adding tasks and challenges that mirror real competition conditions. A spacious floor, lighting, and access to a studio for warm up support focused training, and local competitors create a motivating environment. All participants are welcome, including kids, adults, solo dancers, and pro/am partnerships. Live Latin percussion by Edgardo Cambon is featured once each month, and multiple heats offer chances to rotate partners during the session. Pricing is $15 per person, or $25 on nights with live percussion.
