Explore a piece of Orange County history at the Heritage Museum of Orange County with a tour of the Kellogg family mansion. Built in 1898 by Hiram Clay Kellogg, this early Neoclassical Victorian home was created as a gift for his second wife, Helen, after the passing of his first wife. Inspired by tall ships, the house features a three-story spiral staircase that wraps around a central mast and a crow’s nest without a floor. Hiram died in 1921, and Helen remained for another 42 years, ultimately passing away in the home. Today, reports of unusual activity suggest the family’s presence may still be felt within this uniquely designed residence, adding a layer of mystery to its rich past.
