Baltimore County native Dennis Jones brings a fresh, contemporary spark to American rock and blues while staying rooted in tradition. His album About Time earned a 2025 Blues Music Award nomination for Blues-Rock Album of the Year and drew acclaim for heartfelt vocals, standout guitar work, strong songwriting, and a first-rate band. He was honored as the Bobby Rush Entertainer of the Year in 2023 by the Jus’ Blues Music Awards in Biloxi, Mississippi. Jones writes with an eye on the present, addressing timely topics and blending classic and modern influences, and he has penned songs for other artists, including the late Guitar Shorty. The Dennis Jones Band has opened for icons such as Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, George Thorogood, and Tinsley Ellis, and continues to tour throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. On stage, the group is known for electric guitar fireworks, smooth and soulful vocals, high energy, and a tight rhythm section.
