    Regenerative Farm Tours

Apricot Lane Farms, 10700 Broadway Rd, Moorpark · verified Oct 9
    See details

Explore how a once barren landscape became a flourishing, 234 acre working farm through regenerative practices that prioritize biodiversity and healthy soil. This guided walking tour lasts about two hours and offers an up close look at how nutrient dense, flavorful food is grown by collaborating with nature. Stops often include the garden, a certified wildlife habitat where a wide range of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers are grown to support the land’s natural defenses and help keep pests and disease in balance. Depending on rotational grazing and where they are that day, you may see animals such as cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, and livestock guardian dogs, each playing a role in the farm’s ecosystem. At the Farm Fertility Center, learn how compost, worms, and Biodynamic preparations build microbe rich soil. Visit the Wildlife Ponds that anchor native restoration efforts, stroll through an orchard nicknamed the Fruit Basket with more than 60 fruit varieties and pollinator friendly plantings, and take in wide ranging views from the Alan York Lookout. A stop to meet Itty the pig, Emma’s great granddaughter, is also part of the experience. An optional Seasonal Produce Box showcases what is ripe now, featuring certified Biodynamic fruits and vegetables harvested at peak flavor for pickup at the Farmstand on the day of your tour. The small box is $35 and the large box is $75, with no customizations or substitutions. The Farmstand also offers a limited selection of regeneratively raised meat and eggs, Honey Lemonade, extra virgin avocado oil, and merchandise. For the broadest selection and freshest produce, preordering a box is recommended. All ages are welcome, although the amount of walking and information makes this tour best suited for ages 6 and up. Children 5 and under are free with a limit of two per adult ticket, must remain under parent supervision at all times, and may not ride on farm vehicles without an adult.
