SBCC Monday Madness Jazz Orchestra Featuring Sophie Holt

SBCC Monday Madness Jazz Orchestra brings a big band evening to The Grape, marking the ensemble’s debut at the venue with vocalist Sophie Holt. The program highlights vocal selections tied to Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Diane Schuur, Veronica Swift and more, alongside the group’s trademark salute to jazz greats such as Count Basie, Thad Jones, Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich, as well as modern ensembles including the WDR Big Band, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Airmen of Note and the Alan Baylock Jazz Orchestra. Founded at Santa Barbara City College by Dr. Charles Wood in 1988, the band is now led by musical director and tenor saxophonist Andrew Martinez, with a lineup of local professionals and music educators that includes saxophonists John Soldo, Paul Browne, Justin Claveria, Karl Hunter and Jake Bonneau, trumpeters Mike Muench, Chris Proudman, Phil Rodriguez, James Siu and Lee Neuenschwander, trombonists Ron Phillips, Mark Maynard, Stephen Hughes and Bryce Raymond, and a rhythm section of Bill Redman, George Friedenthal, Randy Tico and Dick Weller. July 23rd, 2026 - Overnight Charter/w Mirage Sportfishing

Cope's Tackle and Rod Shop partners with Mirage Sportfishing for an overnight freelance charter to the Northern Channel Islands, targeting white seabass, halibut, yellowtail, rockfish, whitefish, sheephead, and lingcod. The trip is set for 15 anglers at a rate of $353 per person. Every participant is included in special giveaways that feature a raffle rod and a Cope's Tackle gift card, with additional sponsor prizes available. Anglers on Cope’s sponsored charters are also automatically entered in the Big Ling of the Year contest. The Mirage offers a comfortable setup with modern electronics and a refrigerated seawater fish hold to keep catches in top condition. Crew members Victor and Bryan are on hand to assist with rigging and fishing needs, and the hot galley provides meals with alternative options, served by Alex or Andrew. Onboard galley purchases, fish cleaning, and gratuities are cash only, and bedding should be brought from home. Trips are subject to a fuel surcharge.

All For One Car Show

Classic and specialty vehicles will fill the heart of Downtown Oxnard for a fifth annual celebration of automotive history and community. Co-hosted by the Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association and the All-for-One Car Club, this Summer Classic Car Show features more than 400 autos from across the decades spread over a four block stretch. Saturday Intro to Improv Comedy Drop-In Class

A beginner friendly improv comedy drop in class at The Bunker Theater welcomes anyone curious about spontaneous performance and playful storytelling. Participation is entirely up to you, so you can jump into scenes or simply watch from the audience. Audience members may wear masks and keep some distance during scenes, while masks are removed when stepping into a scene. If that guideline does not work for you, that is understood. Each session starts with quick introductions that include names, optional pronouns, and a brief share of something recent and positive. Respect for everyone’s preferences and beliefs helps maintain a warm, inclusive atmosphere. These Jest Improv classes are designed for adults, since scenes may touch on mature topics. A minimum of four participants is required for the class to take place.

JAB Jujitsu at the Beach

Marking its tenth year, this beachside Danzan Ryu Jujitsu gathering arrives at Oxnard Beach Park in Oxnard, California, with a full day focused on training, friendship, and the spirit of Ohana and Kokua. Practice on the sand with professors, school heads, senior instructors, and other guest instructors from across the AJJF community. Programming covers the Danzan Ryu lists, offers dedicated youth training, and sets aside time for beachside fellowship and Talk Story, along with lunch, family activities, and community fun. A special guest instructor will be announced. Participants are encouraged to bring a gi, beach chairs, family, and plenty of aloha spirit. Dr. Phil Live with Dana Carvey

Dana Carvey joins Adam Rays Dr. Phil for a candid, laugh-filled conversation captured in a live taping for Netflix at Oxnard Levity Live. This single special taping will begin right at the scheduled showtime due to filming. Because the performance is being recorded, guests may be moved to different seats and may be asked to remove head coverings or adjust clothing that could interfere with cameras. Cell phone use is not permitted during the show, and access to the bar as well as entry and re-entry may be limited while taping is underway. By entering, attendees consent to being photographed and recorded, granting Levity Live, LLC and its affiliated companies the right to use their image and voice for marketing and inclusion in productions in any media worldwide without payment, and waiving the right to bring related claims. Eliminator Series III - Buena Lanes

The Agent Ong Open brings its Eliminator Series to California with a stop at Buena Lanes in Ventura. Presented by The Agent Ong Team, Hammer, and Robert Smith Bowling Services, this competition runs a pure double elimination match play format with no qualifying. Every round is head to head. ArtWalk Ventura 2026

Experience the largest arts festival in the area with a free, family-friendly celebration that brings together more than 200 artists across dozens of venues. Artwork by local creators will fill galleries, businesses, restaurants, and the grounds of Mission Park, with maps and signs to guide you along a route that begins on Main Street Downtown and continues up Ventura Avenue. Featured stops include the Museum of Ventura County, the Vita Arts campus at Garden and Main, Working Artists Ventura, and the Bell Arts Factory, while many other spaces along the way showcase visual art and live music. Two stages energize the event, one at the Albinger Archeological Museum across from Mission Park and another at California and Main, presenting local bands, theater groups, and dancers. A cinema festival unfolds at the Downtown Century 10 theaters, poets gather at the Museum of Ventura County Pavilion, and the streets come alive with chalk art, a children’s area, large-scale installations, and live demonstrations in painting and pottery. Organized by an all-volunteer team, this two-day celebration connects neighborhoods, businesses, and the arts community in a shared showcase of creativity.

A lively weekend escape for tiki enthusiasts unfolds at Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach, highlighted by a top floor costume cosplay party in the Lava Lounge. Ponies by the Sea 2026

Ponies by the Sea showcases Ventura County’s longest running celebration of Mustangs and Ford vehicles, hosted by the Tri-County Mustang Club. The event features a wide array of classic and modern models, food trucks, vendors, raffles, and event merchandise. Spectator entry is free, which makes it welcoming for families.
