    Something Rotten

    See details

Temecula Valley Players present a musical set in the 1590s, following brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they struggle to craft a hit while living in the shadow of the Bard. After a local soothsayer predicts that theatre will blend singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, the brothers attempt to create the first musical. When opening night arrives, they discover that climbing to the top only matters if they remain true to themselves. With a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell and music and lyrics by Karey Kirkpatrick and Wayne Kirkpatrick, produced through a special arrangement with Musical Theatre International, the show takes place at The Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Tickets are $32 for Orchestra, $30 for Parterre, $28 for Balcony, and $25 for any seat on Thursdays. Discounts are available for seniors 65+, students, and military with ID, with no discounts on Thursdays.

    The Storytellers

Mt San Jacinto Community College, Menifee · verified Aug 28
    Free

Foodie Fridays, presented by the City of Menifee and Made Local Market and hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College, offers a free, all-ages outdoor evening with distinctive dining choices, local entertainment, and a variety of vendors. The Storytellers bring three sets of bluegrassy music to the night, showcasing a progressive bluegrass sound that draws on traditional bluegrass, country blues, old-time, and folk for inventive improvisation and rich harmonies. Their performances feature soulful vocals, intricate acoustic arrangements, pulsing grooves, and vivid storytelling, all wrapped in their signature “hippie bluegrass” vibe. The band has appeared at festivals such as Huck Finn Jubilee, Calico Bluegrass Festival, Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, and Desert Bluegrass Festival, with highlights that include headlining the Prescott Bluegrass Festival and sharing the stage with Peter Rowan at the Brookdale Bluegrass Festival. They have held a year-long residency at Treasure Island Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, performed on a premier NAMM stage, and played at the Dodgers Stadium 4th of July Celebration. The Storytellers are Scott Diehl on guitar and vocals, Lance Frantzich on bass and vocals, and Steve Stelmach on washboard and percussion.
