It continues a cultural tradition more than three decades in the making, a living space where music, poetry, vulnerability, resistance, storytelling, and community meet in real time. Expect soulful jazz, potent poetry, unexpected creative pairings, humor and heartbreak, gentleness and fire, experimentation, and moments that affirm why spaces like this matter. It embraces those who spent years at the Mercury Cafe as well as newcomers discovering the tradition, bringing communities together to honor legacy, resilience, and renewal through art. The Karma House is a community-centered kava bar and gathering place in Lakewood focused on connection, creativity, healing, and belonging, hosting offerings that include live music, workshops, movement classes, support groups, comedy, poetry, art, and community events. It serves kava, a traditional plant beverage from the Pacific Islands used ceremonially and socially for generations in cultures such as Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Samoa, with deep respect and acknowledgment for the Indigenous Pacific Island communities who have safeguarded these traditions.

Playhouse Productions Inc. presents Cooking With the Calamari Sisters, a musical cooking lesson that plays out like a live, fictitious public-access cable cooking show hosted by two bigger-than-life Italian sisters. Expect plenty of singing, dancing, humor, and some on-stage cooking as Delphine and Carmela try to make it through their final broadcast, with plenty of audience interaction and ad-lib banter. The show includes classic Italian favorites and is best suited for adult audiences (17 and up).

Salsa & Bachata Sundays at La Rumba features DJ Noslen spinning Latin favorites throughout the night. Sharpen your moves with a bachata class led by Subbu and Reid, followed by a salsa class taught by Joseph Snowhawk. Cover is $10, or $15 if you include the classes.

Performance High Pop Choir brings singers together to explore popular music, build harmony skills, and pick up core vocal technique without the cost of private lessons. Participants rehearse as a group and perform at showcases, with additional chances for pop up and flash mob appearances throughout the year. Rehearsals are social and upbeat under the guidance of experienced coach Joe Mondragon, with vocal warmups and focused coaching as needed, plus sheet music and recorded practice tracks to support learning between meetings. A hallmark of the program is custom arranging, where member song ideas can become new arrangements spanning current hits and beloved classics, creating a set list unique to this choir. SUGAR has partnered with PLUS1 so that $2 per ticket supports The Trevor Project and its work providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ youth. The show features a general admission setup alongside reserved East and West balcony seating. General admission tickets provide first come, first served access to the floor and bowl. Reserved tickets offer seated balcony access in the East or West sections with nearby bar service and exclusive restrooms, and all East and West balcony tickets also include access to the general admission areas. Access to specific areas is determined by the ticket type purchased.

The Krank Daddies bring a hard-driving rock and roll set to Rockabillies. Sparked by Chops McClintock’s idea that began in 2000 and became a full-fledged band in 2005, they have since taken their show on the road, sharing stages with Motorhead, Social Distortion, Rob Zombie, and Reverend Horton Heat while performing at festivals and car shows across the United States. There is a $5 cover.

Kaiser Permanente presents Levitt’s season of free concerts, and this edition features Shwayze with Claire Wright. The performance welcomes all ages and will take place rain or shine. Free RSVP is available, with optional upgrades. Shwayze is an American artist known for fusing hip hop with alternative textures and an easygoing, coastal feel. His catalog spans upbeat sing-alongs and more reflective tracks shaped by personal storytelling. The recent album Shwaycation highlights his drive to explore new ideas while staying true to his signature sound, and he is also developing projects in television and film as he continues to build his independent career. Claire Wright, a Northern California native, refined her songwriting during years spent in Southern California and in Nashville. Influenced by artists such as Jack Johnson and The Dirty Heads, she blends country-style narratives with reggae-tinged production for a distinct voice that is her own. Her debut release on Ineffable Records includes collaborations with Iration and G. Love & Special Sauce, and she is earning recognition across the West Coast reggae community.

Presented by Cervantes' and River Beats, this SHIFT event features DRRTYWULVZ with a secret guest. The lineup also includes EOS, Know Matter, Path of the Moose, and INQUUIT. It takes place at Cervantes' Masterpiece.
