She leads the Teresa Storch Band and has drawn comparisons to Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin. David G Smith is a veteran touring songwriter, a regular at Nashville’s Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, and a host and performer at the Bluebird Cafe. Violent Femmes mark 45 years with a concert at Mission Ballroom. This event is for ages 16 and over. CO Starz is holding team tryouts for dance and cheer athletes ages 5 to 16. Everyone earns a place on a team, and the tryout format helps young performers build confidence and feel connected to their group. No experience is required and nothing needs to be prepared in advance, and parents are welcome to observe. The session begins with a warm up and stretch, moves through basic cheer and across the floor dance, then finishes with learning the opening of a routine that will be performed at a Denver Nuggets game and taken to a spring competition. The lineup features founding members Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh on vocals and fiddle, Ciaran Curran on bouzouki, and Mark Kelly on guitar, joined by accordionist Martin Tourish and newest member Clare Friel on fiddle and vocals.
