    Entries are open for a beginner-friendly AKC Agility Course Test that gives dogs and handlers a taste of competition agility while working toward official AKC titles. The event begins with an orientation that covers how a trial runs and guidance on completing the official entry form, then the runs follow. Participants also learn the basics of helping at a trial along with key rules and regulations. Dogs must be at least 15 months old and not yet have an AKC Agility Title. Dogs that already have legs toward a novice title may still participate. Mixed breeds are welcome, and AKC registration is not required in advance because it can be completed on the day of the event. Entrants may choose from ACT 1 Jumpers, ACT 2 Jumpers, and ACT 1, with no pre-qualifications needed for any class. Two runs are offered in each class. ACT 1 Jumpers features about 10 to 12 obstacles with jumps and tunnels. ACT 2 Jumpers offers roughly 11 to 13 obstacles with jumps, tunnels, and six weaves. ACT 1 includes about 10 to 12 obstacles with jumps, tunnels, an A-frame, and a pause table. The cost is $15 per run, and earning two qualifying scores in any single class results in an official AKC title. No same-day entries will be accepted, and entries are limited to a total of 150 runs.
