Through first-person storytelling, the event explores how caregivers strive to champion their children as they bring their distinct gifts to the world. The narratives consider how family and social expectations can narrow how children are perceived, and how parenting transgender and nonbinary children can carry especially high stakes because of the threats they may face for living their true gender. The performance spotlights moments of survival and flourishing, and it also acknowledges how parents become freer from limiting ideas about gender as they genuinely see and learn from their children.
