The Green Expo highlights nonprofits and hands-on workshops, while the Green Kids Village provides interactive activities for younger visitors. Community experiences are planned throughout the park. Twice each week, players come together for Riftbound, a League of Legends card game. The session runs for three rounds with a $10 entry fee. Promotional items and packs are distributed, and participants can also receive store credit.

Premier Concerts and Manic Presents team up to present The FIXX at Harbor Park, joined by Colin Blunstone, known as the voice of The Zombies, and Peter Asher of Peter and Gordon. Open to all ages, this concert offers free admission with an RSVP.

A community 5K run and walk honors the life of Christopher Andreozzi, who died on May 23, 2023 from an arrhythmia-related sudden cardiac death. A lifelong resident of Hamden, he graduated from Hamden High, Trinity College, and Yale University, and served as a dedicated psychiatric APRN at Yale New Haven Hospital and Turnbridge, caring for patients with dignity and respect. Proceeds support the Christopher J. Andreozzi Charitable Foundation, which advances his legacy by promoting awareness of sudden cardiac death and arrhythmias and by delivering education, training, and resources such as CPR instruction and Automated External Defibrillators to help people respond to cardiac emergencies. The Foundation also supports the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome Foundation and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and plans to sponsor scholarships at Hamden High School and the Yale University School of Nursing to prepare future healthcare leaders. Health care professionals will be on site to teach CPR and demonstrate AED use, highlighting that early CPR and defibrillation can save lives.

The finale of this year’s Durham Fair features a closing performance alongside a lineup of familiar acts. The stage is set for a day of entertainment leading up to the final set.

Blue Footed Brewbies is a gender-expansive support flock for anyone navigating life with a chest in a gender-diverse body. The group gathers at Yellow Kings Brew for casual conversation, strong coffee, and gentle vibes, with the birds remaining purely figurative. It welcomes people who are celebrating, grieving, binding, flaunting, tired of others deciding what a chest should mean, or simply hoping to enjoy an oat milk latte among folks who understand. Expect relaxed chats instead of clinical sessions, solidarity across trans, nonbinary, intersex, cis, and cis-questioning identities, and a lighthearted sense of humor to ease the big feelings. Inspired by the flamboyant and awkward blue-footed booby, the meetup embraces the beautiful absurdity of being embodied in public. There are no fees and no fuss, just mutual support and a satisfying medium roast. The plan is to gather monthly, and wearing blue shoes is a playful way to signal you are part of the flock.

This child-focused beekeeping workshop at the CBA Bee Yard is designed for ages 6 to 13. It features kid-friendly presentations, hands-on activities, and time for questions, with opportunities to interact with hives. It is not a drop-off program. Each child must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. Protective equipment is required for all participants and supervising adults. Registration is free.

A monthly Repair Cafe featuring Mister Fix This and Jon's Repairs brings together volunteer fixers to troubleshoot and mend household items and clothing, helping keep useful things in service and out of the landfill. This free community gathering offers a chance to learn hands-on repair techniques and everyday habits that extend the life of belongings while encouraging more informed choices as a consumer. To help reduce wait times, reserving a time slot in advance is recommended. When registering, include a brief description of the item so volunteers can prepare with the right tools and expertise. While not every item can be restored, the team will make a genuine effort, and participants often pick up practical skills along the way. Small repairs are typically completed at no cost during the event, with payment only for any parts required. If a fix needs additional time or specialized equipment, repair experts will suggest next steps, which may include taking the item to finish the work and returning it afterward. More complex or time intensive projects may involve a negotiable fee to cover labor and overhead, supporting the community and a more sustainable lifestyle. Common projects include small appliances like vacuums, blenders, lamps, and fans, as well as clothing and gear issues such as tears, broken zippers, frayed edges, and damaged pockets or straps. New challenges are welcome for items that can be carried in.
