Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript LibraryOrange, the Revolution is Coming!
In celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Orange Historical Society presents a hands on living history program at Orange Congregational Church UCC. Vexillologist and Revolutionary War reenactor Tom Angels of the Fifth Connecticut Regiment will lead a presentation on colonial flags, exploring how they were created, the meanings behind their colors and symbols, and what they conveyed to people of the time. An interactive artifact table invites adults and children to pick up objects, learn their stories, and see examples of the gear a Connecticut soldier might have carried while serving in the field. This program is part of a three event series designed for all ages. Tickets are $5 per person for those over age 5, and space is limited.
