Run/Walk To Save a Life honors Christopher Andreozzi, a lifelong Hamden resident who died from sudden cardiac death due to an arrhythmia. Known as Chris, he graduated from Hamden High, Trinity College, and Yale University, and served as a psychiatric APRN at Yale New Haven Hospital and Turnbridge, where he championed compassionate care and the dignity of every patient. Proceeds support the Christopher J. Andreozzi Charitable Foundation, which continues his legacy by raising awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death and arrhythmia, and by providing education, training, and equipment such as CPR instruction and Automated External Defibrillators to help individuals and communities respond effectively to cardiac emergencies. The Foundation also supports the SADS Foundation and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and will sponsor scholarships at Hamden High School and the Yale University School of Nursing to prepare future healthcare leaders in his memory. Healthcare professionals will be on site offering instruction in CPR and the use of AEDs, highlighting how prompt CPR and early defibrillation can save lives.
