Premier Concerts and Manic Presents welcome DakhaBrakha to District Music Hall for an all ages performance. Founded in 2004 at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art DAKH by avant garde theatre director Vladyslav Troitskyi, the group brings a strong visual dimension to concerts, with projections of animations by Ukrainian artists and images of daily life that range from bright to somber, reflecting many facets of the culture. They are troubadours, activists and educators whose name, meaning give and take in an older form of the language, captures a spirit of exchange that connects Ukraine with the wider world. Their international resume includes appearances at Big Ears, Bonnaroo, WOMAD, Roskilde and the main stage at Glastonbury, along with the Shevchenko National Prize for Musical Arts, globalFEST’s Artist Award and recognition as Chevaliers of the Order of Arts in France. They are currently recording their first album since 2020 in Kyiv, uniting material written before and during Russia’s full scale invasion.
