Participants practice methods intended to support strong outcomes throughout the monarch life cycle, from the southbound journey and wintering period to the spring flight north and late summer breeding. The experience concludes in the Commons with butterfly pea flower tea and a culinary treat. Monarch numbers have fallen by nearly 90 percent in recent decades, and as a participant in Kansas State University’s Monarch Watch program, Grace Farms is working to expand habitat and contribute to monarch tagging efforts. Recommended for ages 12 and older. Due to uneven terrain during the field portion, strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs are not advised.
