This community 5K run and walk honors Christopher Andreozzi, who passed away on May 23, 2023 due to an arrhythmia that led to sudden cardiac death. Chris was a lifelong Hamden resident, a graduate of Hamden High, Trinity College, and Yale University, and a dedicated psychiatric APRN at Yale New Haven Hospital and Turnbridge who believed every person deserved dignity and respect. Proceeds support the Christopher J. Andreozzi Charitable Foundation, which works to preserve his legacy by raising awareness of sudden cardiac death and arrhythmias and by providing education, training, and equipment such as CPR instruction and Automated External Defibrillators to help individuals and communities respond to cardiac emergencies. The Foundation also supports the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome (SADS) Foundation and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and plans to sponsor scholarships at Hamden High School and the Yale University School of Nursing to prepare future healthcare leaders in his memory. Health care workers will be on site to teach CPR and demonstrate how to use an Automated External Defibrillator, emphasizing that prompt CPR and defibrillation can save lives.

At Durham Fair, the closing program brings familiar acts together for a celebratory finale. A day of performances leads up to the final set.

It gathers at Yellow King Brews for strong coffee, warm vibes, and conversation that is casual rather than clinical. Whether you are celebrating, grieving, binding, flaunting, or simply tired of assumptions about what your chest means, this space offers solidarity across identities and a sense of humor to soften big feelings. Stickers might show up, coffee definitely will. Named for the proudly awkward blue-footed booby, the group embraces the beautiful absurdity of living in a body, in public, in this timeline. All chest-havers are welcome, including trans, nonbinary, intersex, cis, cis-questioning, and anyone beyond those labels. Meetings run monthly with no fees and no drama, centered on mutual support and a reliably good cup of coffee. Blue shoes make a fun signal that you are part of the flock.

A monthly Repair Cafe featuring Mister Fix This and Jon's Repairs brings together volunteer fixers to troubleshoot and mend household items and clothing, helping keep useful things in service and out of the landfill. This free community gathering offers a chance to learn hands-on repair techniques and everyday habits that extend the life of belongings while encouraging more informed choices as a consumer. To help reduce wait times, reserving a time slot in advance is recommended. When registering, include a brief description of the item so volunteers can prepare with the right tools and expertise. While not every item can be restored, the team will make a genuine effort, and participants often pick up practical skills along the way. Small repairs are typically completed at no cost during the event, with payment only for any parts required. If a fix needs additional time or specialized equipment, repair experts will suggest next steps, which may include taking the item to finish the work and returning it afterward. More complex or time intensive projects may involve a negotiable fee to cover labor and overhead, supporting the community and a more sustainable lifestyle. Common projects include small appliances like vacuums, blenders, lamps, and fans, as well as clothing and gear issues such as tears, broken zippers, frayed edges, and damaged pockets or straps. New challenges are welcome for items that can be carried in.

A Berklee College of Music graduate and multiple Blues Music Award winner, she has performed with Joe Louis Walker, opened for Blues Traveler, and made her Chicago Blues Festival debut. Her previous release, Heart On The Line, held a top 15 position on the Billboard Blues Album Chart for several weeks.
