Tethered rides in a real hot air balloon are available for $35, weather permitting, and can be purchased on site. Explore historic aircraft inside and out at the Air Mobility Command Museum. Get close to the only C-5 on public display anywhere, a D-Day veteran C-47, a C-54 that supported the Berlin Airlift, the first KC-10 ever built, a C-133 carrying unusual vehicles, Air Force 2, and other rare examples spanning from World War II to the present. Dedicated docents, many with personal experience on these aircraft, will be on hand to share insights and answer questions. The museum’s newest addition, the A-10 Warthog, will also be on view. If it rains, outdoor aircraft will close, while the C-47 in the hangar, the control tower, flight simulator, and theater will remain open. Food will be available for purchase from a local food truck outside. Admission to the museum is free and open to all, with costs only for food and any purchases from the gift store or mobile trailer. Donations are welcome.

First State Heritage Park offers a Garden Day at the John Bell House where volunteers care for three vegetable and herb gardens while taking part in historical interpretation. This World Cup style 9-ball doubles tournament caps teams at a combined Fargo rating of 1111 and uses seeding to keep the field balanced without handicaps. Competition begins with double-elimination group play, with groups of eight teams matched by similar ratings, then moves to a single-elimination final stage. Teams may play either Scotch doubles or a shoot-till-you-miss format. A coin flip decides who picks the format, and the other team takes the opening break. The entry fee is 120 dollars, with all fees included. A 20 point cushion applies. Races are to 6 on the winners side and to 5 on the losers side, with the final stage a race to 8. Rules note that 9-ball is racked on the spot and the winner breaks, with one timeout available per rack. Templates are used, the 9 on the break counts, push-out is allowed, and there is no three-foul rule. Call-pocket play is in effect with a player option. Racking notes include both rack-your-own and opponent-rack references. A robustness of 200 is suggested, and other details are subject to the tournament director’s discretion. A second day of play will be used if necessary.

Now marking its 40th year, this non-profit ride explores the quiet, mostly level roads of Amish country with route choices of 16, 25, 50, 62, or 100 miles. Participants can review route options ahead of time and are encouraged to read Delaware cycling laws before taking part. Every distance includes a stop at the Amish Country School House for freshly baked pie. Depending on the mileage selected, riders will find up to five rest stops with beverages and snacks, then return for lunch along with music and entertainment. Proceeds support Bike Delaware and its mission to advance safe walking and biking for Delawareans and visitors.
