Explore the same grounds that once hosted 18th century markets, suffrage efforts, military musters, and advocates for freedom, while engaging with interactive demonstrations and live performances from groups sharing Delaware’s story, spanning prehistory to the present day. Look for popular returning performers from the 18th Century Market Fair, a variety of food, and local makers with handcrafted items, along with new participants offering something for dedicated history fans as well as families beginning their holiday shopping. Organizers advise that they will not solicit money or personal information through personal accounts or on Facebook, and that official communications are sent only via the event account or a Delaware.gov email.

Designed for ages 16 and up, this hands-on service project teaches how to turn plastic bags into plarn, then use it to create mats for people experiencing homelessness. Over the past seven years, Bags2Mats volunteers have prepared plarn, crocheted, and gifted more than 4,000 mats statewide. The program is led by the State Office of Volunteerism and Volunteer Delaware 50+. Preregistration is required, and because the program occurs before normal library business hours, only those who have preregistered may attend.

This cabaret at Milton Theatre celebrates classic American popular song with selections tied to Cole Porter and George Gershwin. Director and vocalist Candice Castro leads a carefully selected ensemble featuring Darby Pumphrey, Jordan Kilgore, and Matt Lucatamo. A live pit band guided by Steven Soltow accompanies the singers, presenting classic standards in new interpretations.

Tarkus brings a dedicated salute to Emerson, Lake and Palmer, focusing on the trio’s intricate writing and pioneering spirit. The performance centers on the music that made this group an icon, presented by musicians who share a deep connection to the material. Pianist Keith Turner came of age amid the sounds of R and B, classic rock, and Motown in the 60s and 70s. He studied music at CCC while composing and performing both original pieces and ELP works for a class that included the late Billy Paul. He was thrilled to join Tarkus, and he counts Keith Emerson among his earliest influences from the very beginning. Mike is a well respected multi instrumentalist from the New Jersey and Philadelphia area. Growing up in a musical family, he first took to the drums in the path of his older brother John. With a father who sang and fronted bands and a sister, Karen, who plays piano, he was surrounded by music from Genesis, Yes, ELP, and The Beatles. He picked up guitar at age 11 and studied formally with jazz instructor Bill Johnson in New Jersey. John started drumming at 13, drawing inspiration from John Bonham, Carl Palmer, Dave Weckl, and Buddy Rich. He learned with local teachers, played in school bands, and spent years performing in area clubs before heading west to the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he graduated with honors. His career includes tours on the Vegas casino circuit and aboard cruise ships around the world, and he returned to Delaware seeking challenging musical projects such as Tarkus. Together, these backgrounds come together in a tribute devoted to the artistry and legacy of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

The annual Fall Craft Show features more than 65 vendors with handmade crafts and unique goods. Shoppers can look for thoughtful holiday gifts and other homemade specialties. This charity evening at Bally's Dover Casino Resort features a full dinner with dessert, meaningful conversation, and several ways to give back, including a pick-a-prize auction, a cash bar, and a 50/50 raffle. The Psi Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, together with the Psi Iota H.O.P.E. Foundation, presents its Annual Achievement Week Awards Brunch at the Modern Maturity Center in the East Longwood Ballroom. The program celebrates local citizens whose leadership and accomplishments strengthen the City of Dover, with several community and Omega awards highlighting achievements in religion, education, the military, law enforcement, business, and other areas of service. Guests can expect live music, a featured speaker delivering an inspiring message, and a full brunch buffet that includes fried chicken, sausage, vegetable lasagna, home fries, scrambled eggs, grits, and collard greens, along with coffee, iced tea, and orange juice. Chartered in Dover, the Psi Iota Chapter has mentored undergraduate chapters at Delaware State University and, as it nears eight decades of impact, continues to attract men committed to positive change. Over the years, more than 180 brothers have been part of the chapter, serving their communities as educators, ministers, attorneys, public servants, executives, researchers, and social scientists.

At Milton Theatre, Branden and James team up with Effie Passero to present CelloVoci, a program built on the rich interplay of soulful cello and emotive vocals in the classical crossover style. The duo is known for James’s imaginative arrangements of well-known songs and Branden’s commanding tenor. Branden is a former America’s Got Talent finalist who has served as a resident tenor with The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Los Angeles Opera, and he authored the memoir Lyrics of My Life, published by Simon and Schuster in 2020. Together they have toured internationally, released the debut album Chasing Dreams, and were honored by Music Connection magazine as North America’s top unsigned artists. Their recordings also include the holiday collection A Christmas Gift. Effie Passero, a classically trained singer from Los Angeles now based in Mexico, reached the top 20 on American Idol in 2018 and continues to perform around the world as well as on a range of studio projects.

Milton Theatre hosts a high-energy tribute to the golden age of arena rock as Legends of Rock delivers a stadium-scale show. This Michigan-based act tours across the Midwest and beyond, bringing a nonstop celebration of 1980s hits to the stage with era-inspired costumes, dynamic lighting, and a huge live sound. Musicians Josh Griffith, Mike Breitbach, Jeff Sers, Ken Caswell, and Scott Schroeder recreate the look, feel, and adrenaline of a classic tour using only live instruments and vocals, with no backing tracks.
