Join for a free opening reception for a student exhibition that connects students with important people and ideas from the past. This event is part of Rockwood Park and Museum’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, and it’s open to all ages.

The event features a musical performance by Paige Melton and the exhibition A Gentle Atmosphere: Nature Seen Through Light and Softness by Kelsey Holveck. Food trucks include Sarcastic Chef and Dino's Ice Cream. Watch an artist demonstration of cyanotype with Sarah Rafferty. This event is free with paid park admission.

Just Rice will be serving a full menu at Market on the Green in New Castle, featuring their signature veggie rice alongside beef kielbasa, chicken, ribeye steak, and shrimp. Bowls are limited, so arriving early gives the best chance to get a favorite pick.

SFCL Ministries Operation Back 2 School is a community outreach gathering in New Castle, Delaware that helps students and families get ready for a successful school year. Presented by SFCL Ministries’ Reach One Community Outreach, the event offers backpack and school supply giveaways, complimentary haircuts with styling and braiding, a barbecue, youth games and bounce houses, live worship and music, a prayer tent, health screenings, raffle prizes, vendor booths, and community resource tables. It is open to everyone and focuses on faith, encouragement, and practical support for children and their families.

The Rock Lot hosts a weekly drum circle that welcomes all ages at no cost. A local instructor guides the session, and drums in a variety of sizes are available. Participants can bring their own drum or borrow one on site. This program receives partial support through a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.

Enjoy free live music along the Riverfront as Wilmington native Amari Imani performs at the Hare Pavilion on the Wilmington Riverwalk. A 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Wilmington, Delaware and a Howard University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Music focused on Jazz Studies, Amari has been singing since the age of four. Her soulful sound blends jazz, gospel, R&B, and pop, and her heartfelt performances center on positivity, encouragement, and hope that uplift and connect with audiences. Bring your lunch or grab takeout from a nearby Riverfront restaurant and relax with live music in a beautiful outdoor setting. Admission is free.

Summer in the Parks brings a free evening of entertainment to Haynes Park with An Evening with Christina Cultural Arts Center, featuring a blend of R&B, soul, and jazz. A community art project by Redbird Art Lab adds a creative element, and complimentary Bernie's Water Ices will be offered.

A new community drum circle at J.K. Percussion & Arts offers a welcoming space to relieve stress and reconnect with your rhythm. Group drumming encourages connection, sparks creativity, lifts mood, and supports relaxation. Participation is free and open to everyone. Please bring your own drum if you have one.
