Miami/Key Biscayne, Florida Bikeway Tour - a Smart-Guided Selfie Cycle Tour

    Parking,Virginia Key,33149,US, Virginia Key
    See details

Discover Miami and Key Biscayne on a smart-guided selfie cycle tour that strings together ocean views, sandy beaches, two expansive parks, a historic lighthouse, and a taste of local history along a relaxing 17-mile flattened loop. The route is 92 percent bikeway and completely level except for a single bridge, so the only real climb might be the wind. Segments that are not on bikeways use commonly ridden roads, and some of those have sidewalks. Florida law allows bicyclists to ride on sidewalks, so riders can choose the roadway or sidewalk based on conditions. The itinerary links trails like Osprey Beach Trail, Bear Cut Nature Trail, Rickenbacker Bikeway, and the Fossilized Reef Bike Trail while connecting places such as Beach Park, Crandon Park and Crandon Beach, the Miami Seaquarium, Cape Florida Beach, the Crandon Park Zoo ruins, Neptune Memorial Reef, Hobie Island Beach Park, the Cape Florida Lighthouse, the Old Rickenbacker Causeway, Rickenbacker Causeway Beach, Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center. Bring a bike and a smartphone, then follow the emailed links for voice and map turn-by-turn guidance. Start from a convenient parking area or from nearby accommodations, ride at your own pace, pause for views or visits, and the smart guide will pick up right where you are when you are ready to roll. The loop is mostly continuous with a few short sections that repeat. Entry fees may apply at select stops. Historic Virginia Key Beach Park is free Monday through Thursday, 10 dollars on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and 12 dollars on holidays. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park charges 2 dollars per person. The tour links do not expire, and the purchase covers the smart-guided route and instructions only. Attractions, lodging, food, and bike rentals are not included.
