The Hidden Language of Yoga (Tea included)

Discover the deeper meaning of yoga postures in a workshop led by studio owner Christy. Rather than focusing on stretching, alignment, or advanced balances, this session reveals the stories, philosophy, and mythology embedded in the shapes you practice. Move through twelve poses as a purposeful journey, exploring why each one exists and how it can reflect personal growth, challenge, transformation, and awakening. The experience also offers a clear, felt connection to the Yoga Sutras, shifting them from something read on a page to something experienced in the body. Tea is included.

Exhibit Opening Reception

An opening reception and artist talk introduce Quiet Light: The Art of Sara Pedigo at Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens. Complimentary light refreshments are provided and admission is free, with beer and wine available for purchase at a cash bar. Pedigo’s representational paintings explore the expressive qualities of light and everyday moments. She grew up in South Carolina’s Piedmont before moving to northeast Florida at thirteen, where she has lived and worked for more than three decades. She earned an MFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2007 and serves as Professor of Fine Art at Flagler College in St. Augustine, her undergraduate alma mater. Balancing studio practice and teaching in drawing, painting, and advanced studio courses, she has exhibited across the country in solo and group shows. Her process centers on careful observation, noticing brief shifts in light and color, and building paintings gradually over time so that marks, values, and hues record the complexity of what surrounds her.

The Devon Allman Project The Blues Summit

At Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, guitarist and songwriter Devon Allman leads a blues and Southern rock summit that draws on a lifelong connection to this music. As the son of Gregg Allman, he grew up within the Allman Brothers Band legacy and continues to carry that tradition forward through expressive guitar work and original songs. Sharing the bill is Jimmy Hall, the voice of Wet Willie, recognized for his harmonica and emotive vocals. From his start in Mobile, Alabama, he formed Wet Willie in the late 1960s and reached the charts with songs like “Keep on Smilin’.” His collaborations have included work with Jeff Beck, reflecting a career that spans blues, rock, and R&B. Larry McCray adds further depth to the lineup. Born in Magnolia, Arkansas and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, the blues guitarist and singer came to prominence in the late 1980s with a sound that blends contemporary blues, rock, and soul. Ticket pricing is 70 dollars for Rows BB through EE. Seats in Rows FF through KK are 60 dollars, and Rows LL through QQ are also 60 dollars, with Row AA reserved for accessible seating at the same price. Daytona Beach International Festival - 2 DAY EVENT

This two-day international festival fills Manatee Island Park with performances, flavors, and artistry from around the globe. The celebration features representation from 30 nations through live music and dance, world cuisine, artisan goods, and interactive cultural demonstrations. Admission is free for everyone, and the event is presented by Cultural Awareness Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The park’s outdoor amphitheater and wide green spaces create an open, family-friendly setting that blends cultural discovery with community connection. A highlight is the Community Unity Mural led by local artist Natasha Aziri. Guests of all ages contribute brushstrokes over both days while a dedicated camera captures the process, which will later be shared as a time-lapse video alongside the finished work at a local museum to be announced. Emerging young author Lucky Boren brings a literacy-focused activity inspired by her book, including cat-themed face painting that lets children step into the role of Toby. Additional highlights include participation from arts organizations, demonstrations by the Daytona Beach Fire Department, youth water attractions, and an educational tie-in with lesson plans developed by local middle school teachers. Community partners deepen the cultural and civic reach of the festival. Expected participants include Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scouts of America, Ormond Beach Civil Air Patrol, Hungarian Heritage House, the Iranian American Society of Daytona Beach, more than 14 bands and dance groups from across Volusia, Flagler, and St Johns counties, and multiple local cultural associations. Imaginarium Summer Camp for Ages 6-11

This creative camp at Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens offers children ages 6 to 11 the chance to imagine an original magical character and bring it to life by sculpting with plaster. Participants craft a small storybook, design an imaginative mask, and explore painting, clay, and other hands-on projects. The final day features a chance to dress as a favorite magical creature and take photos with new friends. Children must be at least 6 years old at the time of camp or have completed Kindergarten to enroll. Please send a snack and a drink for the daily break. Tuition is $150 for museum members and $165 for future members. Enrollment is first come, first served, and parents receiving SNAP food assistance may apply for scholarship support.
