Island Hopper partners with the Americana Community Music Association to present an in-the-round showcase at The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, where five ACMA members share original songs and the stories behind them. The performers are Roy Schneider, Anthony Wayne, Bill Metts, Tim McGeary, and Matt Hannam, representing a Fort Myers based nonprofit that supports original music all year. Advance tickets are 15 dollars, with prices at 20 dollars the week of the concert. Roy Schneider, a founding member of the duo Reckless Saints, has toured across the United States and abroad, earned three NewFolk finalist honors at the Kerrville Folk Festival, appeared on season 5 of The Voice, placed in the Telluride Acoustic Blues competition, and released the album Blue Twangled Folk’n’ Roll with Kim Mayfield. Anthony Wayne is a Southwest Florida singer songwriter originally from Indiana and a longtime Fort Myers Beach resident, blending roots rock and Americana influences while performing along the Gulf Coast and releasing original recordings and videos. Bill Metts, a fingerstyle guitarist shaped by the 1960s country blues revival, has performed at the Mississippi John Hurt Blues Festival, Ground Zero in Clarksdale, the Will McLean Festival, and the Island Hopper Songwriter Festival, and led the ACMA’s weekly Songwriter Circle for four years. Tim McGeary of Naples previously signed with A&M Records, toured with Billy Idol, Duran Duran, and Simple Minds, and has song placements on television including Smallville and One Tree Hill and in films such as The Kiss Me Curse and Girl Got Mo; he now writes for other artists and produces songs with collaborators from around the world. Matt Hannam, based in Fort Myers, has performed solo, with the duo Another Era, and with the five piece band The Collective, has been an ACMA member since its founding year, and is also part of the Hope by Song organization.

An elegant River Nights celebration, A Night on the Nile, will unfold at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, bringing the community together to support children and families. Guests can enjoy an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and a fundraising auction in a welcoming setting. All proceeds benefit the Children and Families Scholarship Fund and the programs served by the Fort Myers YMCA. Cocktail attire is requested.
